Story
Meet Layla – Your Toy-Loving Snuggle Expert! 🐾❤️ Layla is a sweet, lovable girl who's mastered the perfect balance of playtime and naptime. She loves carrying around her toys, entertaining herself, and then happily curling up for one of her many well-earned naps. At bedtime, she's convinced the best place to sleep is snuggled up in bed with her people—and she'll snooze peacefully through the entire night. Like many dogs, Layla gets very excited when she spots wildlife or other animals on walks. Squirrels, turkeys, cats, and dogs are simply way too interesting, so she'll bark and pull on the leash in her enthusiasm. She'll do best with someone who can confidently redirect her attention and continue working on her leash skills. Layla also has a funny little habit of scratching at the couch or comforters when she's feeling playful or energetic. Luckily, she's easily redirected to one of her favorite toys, and she's more than happy to channel that energy into playtime instead. If you're looking for a sweet companion who loves toys, enjoys cozy cuddle sessions, and is always ready for a good night's sleep by your side, Layla may be your perfect match! This pet is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling the retest and obtaining any follow-up prescriptions through their veterinarian.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Come to Woofstock 2026 at Pub 42, 7600 N 42nd Ave, New Hope, MN 55427! You can meet me on Sunday, August 9th from 2:00-4:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Daisy Duke is a gentle little Cocker Spaniel with the sweetest soul and the kind of quiet resilience that slowly melts your heart. It’s clear Daisy spent most of her life confined to a kennel or small space with very little human affection, and now she’s learning — step by step — that she deserves so much more than simply being used to have puppies. She’s discovering what it means to feel safe, cared for, and truly loved for the very first time. Daisy is shy and cautious at first, but beneath that timid exterior is a dog who desperately wants connection. She has started climbing onto the bed beside her foster family and will quietly inch her way within arm’s reach for gentle pets, though she still avoids eye contact while she builds confidence. The sweetest part? The moment you stop petting her, she scoots just a little closer, silently asking for more. She’s also beginning to discover how to simply be a dog. Daisy watches her foster siblings carefully and has started sneaking toys away to investigate when she thinks nobody is watching. She enjoys turkey tendon chews, carrots, lick mats, and just about any treat you leave for her in a quiet, safe spot. She’s never pushy for attention or food and would much rather hang back and observe until she feels comfortable. Daisy is crate trained, does very well in her kennel, and knows commands like “outside” and “kennel/crate.” She’s making great progress with potty training when kept on a consistent schedule. She is still learning leash skills, but because she is easily frightened and remains a flight risk, a secure fenced yard will be required for her safety. Loud noises, thunderstorms, and overwhelming commotion can still be very scary for Daisy, so she would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands healing takes time. She greatly prefers the company of female dogs (who can blame her after all those years of breeding) and simply asks another confident canine companion (who won’t give off baby making vibes) in her forever home to help continue showing her the world is a safe place. Daisy Duke is not the kind of dog who will rush into your arms on day one — she’s the kind who quietly changes your heart forever. Watching her learn to trust, seek affection, and slowly bloom into the dog she was always meant to be is something truly special. She’s ready for a family who will give her all the love, patience, and gentle kindness she has waited her whole life to receive. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Age: DOB 6/5/2026 Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Kid friendly: yes Potty trained: no, just a puppy Crate trained: no, just a puppy Meet Krill, an adorable fluffball from the Sea Creature litter who is looking for an extra special forever family to give him all their love! Krill is deaf and has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a non-progressive neurological birth defect. What does that mean for this sweet little guy? It simply means he navigates the world with a silly little wobble in his step and an endearing tilt to his head, needing a safe environment and extra patient humans who are ready to embrace his unique charm. Despite his wobbly stride, Krill is just like any other happy, thriving puppy. He can walk, eat, potty, play, and do almost everything a regular pup does. He loves to run, barks with delight when he gets excited, and is always eager to show off his playful personality. When playtime is over, Krill turns into a world-class snuggler who wants nothing more than to curl up close and snooze. To keep this wobbly boy safe, Krill needs a home with limited stairs and no access to large open water. He would absolutely love to join a home with a friendly, confident furry sibling to help show him the ropes and lead the way. Krill also adores older kids and would be thrilled to have some teens in the household to cuddle with when he’s sleepy. Krill doesn’t know he’s any different, and if you have the patient heart and loving home he’s searching for, please apply to adopt him today! Adoption Fee: $795
