Please contact Destiny Sibert (DestinyS@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweetie ISO fresh start and love! FREEDOM NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Freedom and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Jan. 25th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!     Name: Freedom       Best Guess for Breed:  Wheaten terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  5 years as of October 2025       SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  25 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Watch this video of Freedom showing off his silly side!   Special adoption considerations:   Freedom recently had a subcutaneous mast cell tumor successfully removed and will begin weekly chemotherapy treatments in mid-January for 8 weeks to prevent the cancer from returning. These treatments are generously sponsored by the 15/10 Foundation and the sponsorship will transfer with him if adopted. His adopter will need to commit to completing his treatment plan. We’re happy to discuss his medical history and treatment details with interested adopters. Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Freedom would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. About Freedom: Freedom is a deeply affectionate, people-loving dog who thrives on connection, routine, and adventure—and when the day winds down, he’s happiest curled up next to you on the couch.   Household Manners Freedom has excellent house manners and is a dream indoors: No accidents in the house Crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night in a crate in the bedroom Does best with a consistent daily routine Personality Freedom is equal parts cuddle bug and playful athlete: Very affectionate and loves to snuggle Friendly and approachable—he’s done great with dogs, people, and children at adoption events Active and playful; he’d love an active household or a playful dog friend Enjoys long walks, fetch, and outdoor fun (with dog park visits after chemo) He also has the cutest habit of gently grabbing blankets or shoes when he’s excited—no chewing or destruction, and he’s easily redirected to a toy. He’s still polishing his leash manners and occasionally grabs the leash, but he’s learning quickly.  Addressing Separation Anxiety Freedom’s separation anxiety is currently managed with: Two structured 30+ minute walks daily High-value chews when left alone Minimal Trazodone as needed His anxiety mainly shows up as vocalization, so he might not be a good fit for apartments or condos where barking could impact neighbors. With patience, gradual alone-time training, and continued structure, he has great potential to keep improving. Freedom is a loving, loyal dog who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. With the right home, he’ll repay your patience and care with endless affection, joyful energy, and unwavering companionship. What My Foster Says About Me:  Freedom is a lovable boy with a heart full of affection! This sweet boy absolutely adores his people and is always ready to show his loyalty with tail wags and cuddles. Freedom thrives on companionship and is looking for an adopter who can help him work through his separation anxiety. With patience, understanding, and some consistent training, Freedom will flourish into the perfect, devoted companion. He’s ready to bond deeply with his new family and bring endless joy to their lives—he just needs a little extra support to feel confident when left alone.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Can only be adopted in Texas Looking for a trusty sidekick to go on adventures with? A shaggy dog who'll never leave your side and will cuddle up with you to get through the long night? Well, look no further than Maya! This sandy, shaggy, terrier will sweep you off your feet and will make everyday feel like an adventure! Her honey eyes will always be sparkling to see you wherever you go and whenever you get back home! Maya is going to thrive as an only dog and would do best in a home that does not have a lot of doggie traffic coming and going. She likes her quiet life and she loves her person. Like most diva's she is not one to share her toys, people or space! Maya is the type of girl who would love the simply country lifestyle. Sitting on the porch with her person, afternoon strolls on the backyard. Really the quiet, relaxed, laidback kinda gal. Maya is a medium-sized dog (20-59#). Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Story
I got Chloe when she was 17 weeks old and she is a very loving and playful girl. She is 11 months and will be one on February 8th! I am unfortunately, too busy with school and taking too many credits and wont be able to give Chloe the care she needs with the semester starting back up. I would love for her to go to a loving family with young kids looking for a forever pet.
