Story
Meet Minnie! Her giant ears are sure to bring a smile to your face--she looks like a little Whippet mix with her narrow face and long legs. She's a sassy, playful, snuggly puppy who's thrilled to be off the streets and out of the heat! She's about 3.5 months old and weighs 9 pounds. She's good with other dogs and kids, and she's working on house training in her foster home!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 23, 2023, 4:03 pm

Story
Meet Cassidy, the Charming Introvert! Get ready to fall in love with Cassidy, a pale white pup with captivating puppy eyes and a heart-shaped nose. Despite a challenging past where he navigated the streets and scrounged for survival, Cassidy's resilience shines through. Now, he's on a mission to find a loving home where he can feel safe and cherished. Cassidy is a dog with a gentle and timid personality. Loud noises and intense reactions make him nervous, and he prefers a calm and serene environment. He needs time to warm up to people and build trust before he feels comfortable and secure. This smart little guy knows some tricks already and is a well-mannered companion during feeding time. He's polite and respectful, showing his intelligence and willingness to please. Sitting on command is just one of the many tricks he has mastered. When it comes to relaxation, Cassidy's favorite spot is snuggled up on the couch or bed. He loves cozy naps and enjoys sleeping in when it's chilly or rainy outside. His head and ears are the sweet spots for scratches and cuddles, and he might even roll over for a belly rub! Cassidy is searching for someone who will shower him with love and understanding. While he respects cats and tolerates other dogs, he prefers his own space and will often retreat to a separate room. However, when the other dogs are not around, he comes out for attention and cuddles. He enjoys the quiet company of a select few men, seeming to have a preference for quieter individuals. It's important to note that Cassidy is not a fan of chaos, whether it's caused by humans or other dogs. He seeks a serene and calm environment where he can feel at ease. Car rides are a pleasure for him, as long as he is the sole rider and not in a crowded car with other dogs. To provide Cassidy with his ideal home, a single, quiet man with no other dogs or possibly a submissive dog that Cassidy meets and approves of would be the perfect match. An at-home social life that aligns with his introverted nature is preferable. While Cassidy tends to avoid general interaction and may not seek pets, hugs, or kisses, he has his moments of affection when he feels comfortable. Cassidy may be an introverted hermit, but beneath his reserved exterior lies a dog yearning for love and understanding. If you're someone who appreciates the quiet moments and can provide a calm and peaceful environment, Cassidy will reward you! (Only) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Lila a very sweet 30 lb., Whippet/Terrier mix with an approximate DOB of 2/28/2021. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on core vaccines (Rabies/Distemper).  Lila was found as a stray in Minneapolis and seems to be a bit skittish and untrusting. The adopter will need to be patient as Lila gains trust and gets to know her routine. Lila can be laid back but also has energy that needs to be burnt off through walking exercise, stimulation with toys and play time. As she has been in her foster home her playful side is starting to come out. She enjoys playing with balls but does not understand how to drop and play fetch. She enjoys batting the ball with her paw and chasing it as it rolls down the hill outside. She also likes squeaky toys and plush toys so any small humans might have to share their stuffed animals if they are not stored out of Lila’s reach. With that said Lila is not comfortable around little kids so it is best to be adopted in a house with children over 12. Lila would also benefit from obedience and dog socialization classes in a safe environment as she needs to learn some rules and boundaries and how to be a better dog. Lila does well with other dogs with slow introductions and can be a bit in their face as she just wants to play with them, but also has a jealous side. Her current foster has three (3) dogs, and she gets along with them and wants to be part of the pack. Lila might be best in a home where the human works from home as she wants to be around as she gains trust and confidence. She can be very vocal when left alone or put in kennel so it is suggested that there should be no shared walls for her as well. Lila is house trained and does well when left unkenneled if she cannot reach the countertop, especially food. She has slept in a bed a night and loves being close to the fosters and then will not whine or bark. Lila would benefit from a fenced yard as she tends to want to run and escape her surroundings due to fear and uncertainty in situations and will run away if you try to catch her.    Although you would not know it as she seems fine, Lila has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in both hips, so it is very important to keep her lean. Let Lila her set her exercise limits but also do not let her overdo it.  Swimming would be an excellent activity for her to do and shorter walks. She does not seem to have any pain and x-rays showed there was no arthritis at this time but the vet says that no intervention needed currently but she may need a salvage procedure in the future. Outside walks have gone well with other dogs, but she does have a prey drive and pulls on the leash. Her fosters are working with her on how to walk on a leash, but they do enjoy watching her smell and pounce as she is still a young dog. She could be the only dog or live with another non-dominant, easy going dog her size or bigger. Small dogs, cats, or other animals such as chinchillas, hamsters etc. are not recommended in the house with Lila. Lila would make a wonderful addition to the right warm and loving home. If you would like to learn more about Lila and set up a meet and greet, please fill out an application.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Story
Introducing the one and only Pedro, a name as vibrant as the Lone Star State itself! You see, Pedro is more than just a Spanish translation of Peter; it carries a certain charm that resonates with my lively spirit. Picture this: "Andele andele, Pedro!" Vamanos! Doesn't it have a ring of adventure and machismo? Now, let me share a bit about my journey. I've had a bumpy start, finding myself in a crowded hoarding situation surrounded by relatives galore. Parents, siblings, half-siblings, aunts, uncles, and even grandparents-it was quite the family reunion, but not the ideal environment, unless you're from Kentucky! As a result, I may still carry a hint of trepidation from my early days without much socialization. But fear not, for both I and my dedicated rescuers have been diligently working to help me blossom into a more confident and comfortable pooch, ready to embrace new experiences and encounters. The ideal home for me would be one that includes a confident and friendly canine companion, older children, or even a tranquil environment without kids. Love is the key ingredient, and if your home resonates with warmth and affection, then count me in! I also need a patient person or family, the confidence builder! So, what do you say? Take me under your wing, fill out that adoption application, and let's embark on an extraordinary journey together. We'll bid farewell to this mundane existence and embrace a world filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities. Together, we'll create our own adventure, leaving behind the ordinary and savoring the extraordinary. Pedro is ready, are you? Let's blow this popsicle stand and start a beautiful chapter of companionship and joy. Seize this chance to make a difference in both our lives, and let our paths intertwine in a symphony of love and happiness. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
