Story
Hi, I’m Kiara! Yes, my name is fancy because, well, have you seen me? I came all the way from Arkansas to Minnesota because I heard this is where all the nice families live. I’m about 2 ½ years old, 40 pounds of love, and apparently a “Whippet mix” (which sounds like a milkshake flavor, if you ask me). Let’s address the scar on my face right away—it’s from when some not-so-nice humans who taped my mouth shut. But don’t worry, it doesn’t hurt anymore, and I like to think of it as my superhero badge. After all, I survived and still LOVE people. Take that, bad guys! Here’s what you should know about me: Lap Dog Wannabe: At 40 lbs, I have no concept of personal space. Your lap = my bed. Teen & Adult Approved: I love humans of all sizes (except maybe toddlers who want my toys…we’ll talk about that later). Cats: Sniffed one, got whacked, immediate respect earned. End of story. Dogs: Truthfully, they aren’t so bad to have around. They are mere peasants to me. I ignore them, but don’t get it twisted. My toys and my toys. I do not share. Stuffed Animals: Your stuffed toys? They’re toast. I’m a certified Fluff Removal Specialist. Countertops: I’m…curious. There’s just so much treasure up there! My foster mom says “off” a lot. I’m learning. Walks: I love them! Leashes, not so much. Harnesses help, and with a little practice, I’ll be strutting like a pro. Kennel Life: Big fan. It’s my dining room, bedroom, and “me time” cave. Car Rides: Windows down, ears flapping, living my best dog life. Potty Training: I’m close! Sometimes my signals are subtle—apparently humans need training too. What I really want is someone who will laugh at my quirks, work with me on my “sharing is caring” issue, and most importantly, let me shower them with love. I’ve got a heart the size of Minnesota, and I can’t wait to find my forever couch…uh, I mean family. So—how about it?
