Story
We have a question. Is it actually fair for one dog to have this much going for him? Because Sully Wully is cute. Sully Wully is smart. Sully Wully is friendly. Sully Wully is funny. And somehow this scruffy little overachiever managed to fit all of that into a 23 lb body. If there was ever a dog that could convince you to become a "dog person," it's probably Sully. The type of dog that makes strangers stop and smile. The type of dog that can spend the morning exploring a trail, the afternoon showing off party tricks, and the evening curled up beside you on the couch like he's been your best friend for years.
Watch his video and try not to immediately want him: https://youtu.be/iudD0schsyM?si=Q49Qw994WqfgKACl
Sully Wully is approximately 2.5 years old, weighs around 23 lbs, and we believe he may be a Wirehaired Terrier mix. With rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age.
One of our favorite things about Sully is how genuinely happy he is. This boy wakes up every day ready to have a good time. He bounces through life with a goofy grin on his face and seems convinced that everyone he meets is a potential new friend. Whether he's meeting new people, exploring somewhere new, or simply hanging out with his favorite humans, Sully brings an infectious kind of joy with him.
He has loved every person he's met so far and has all the makings of an incredible companion. Sully isn't the type that wants to sit on the sidelines while life happens around him. He wants to be included. Going for a walk? Sully would like to come. Having friends over? Sully would like to meet them. Planning a weekend adventure? Sully has already packed his imaginary bags.
Sully has also done well with other animals. He gravitated most toward a playful, confident dog named Toasty and really seemed to enjoy having a buddy to interact with. While he got along with all of the dogs he met, his playful side came out most around Toasty. We think he gravitated toward her the most because she was respectful around him when they first met, wasn’t too pushy and let him come to her when he was ready. We believe he would do especially well with a playful dog friend, particularly one around his size or medium-sized. He also met our house cat Biggie and did great. He gave him a sniff, decided everything was in order, and then happily went about his day. No chasing. No bothering him. Just respectful coexistence. Let us know if you have a cat and we can arrange an overnight cat test.
Now let's talk about the thing that tends to make people's jaws drop. Sully knows an absurd number of tricks. Sit? Easy. Down? Obviously. Shake? Of course. Spin? Yep. Crawl? You bet. And then there's "bang." Give the command and Sully dramatically falls onto his side and plays dead like he's auditioning for a role in a Hollywood movie. Honestly, watching him work through his tricks is one of the coolest things about him. It's clear he's smart, eager to learn, and enjoys working with his people. Sully is crate trained, potty trained, and has wonderful house manners. He's reached that sweet spot where he's young enough to be fun and adventurous but mature enough to have some self-control and settle nicely in the home.
One of the things we love most about Sully is how adaptable he is. He could absolutely enjoy a backyard where he can stretch his legs and play, but we could also see him thriving in an apartment or condo setting. He's active enough to join you on adventures but knows how to relax afterward. It's a balance that a lot of people are looking for and not every dog naturally has. Sully has also spent time with children ranging from 2 to 4 years old and looked like he was having the time of his life. He bounced around, wagged his tail, soaked up attention, and seemed thrilled to be part of the fun. Every now and then his excitement would get the best of him and he'd hop up to say hello, but at only 23 lbs it was more of an enthusiastic little tap than anything else.
If you're looking for a dog that's equal parts adventure buddy, comedian, cuddle buddy, and show-off, Sully might just be your guy. He's the total package wrapped up in a scruffy little terrier body, and we have a feeling whoever adopts him is going to wonder how they ever lived without him.
We are willing to test Sully Wully with anything you need in order to ensue it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
