You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Nala is a lively, affectionate dog who greets everyone with a wagging tail. She loves playing with other dogs and enjoys toys, making her the perfect companion for an active home. Nala is calm around cats and pays them no mind. She would thrive in a home with another dog and needs a securely fenced yard to safely expend her energy.  REQUIREMENTS:   Fenced Yard, Another dog       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Hi there… my name’s Dexter. One day I had a family — and then suddenly, I didn’t. My people brought me and my best friend, rufus to the shelter and said they couldn’t keep us anymore. I didn’t understand why. I watched them walk away, and no matter how long we waited, they didn’t come back. Now were with 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue, and they promised that we will stay together in  our next home. I’m a sweet loyal boy who loves playing. I’ll be your best friend, your shadow, and the reason you smile every day  Requiremnts: Fenced yard Bonded with RufusVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. Story
Meet Brody: Brody is estimated to be about a 6 month old (as of February 2026) wire haired terrier mix (best guess) that weighs 9 pounds. Brody was found running around Memphis by a young couple who tried to find his owners with no success. Brody is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Brody is as friendly as a dog can be. Brody doesn't know the meaning of the word stranger and is a wonderful little companion. Brody wants to be near you at all times and gets along well with other dogs. Brody is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need some patience while adjusting to a new method. We would love for Brody to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely. Brody is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adding this cutie into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Tennessee, awaiting transport to PA ##2650366##

Story
Holly is a bright, happy girl with a little extra pep in her step and a big love for life. If fetch were an Olympic sport, she’d definitely be a contender—this pup lives for a good toss and proudly considers herself a pro. Toys of all kinds are her jam, and she’s always up for playtime. Holly also enjoys getting out and about. Car rides, walks, and even runs make her tail wag, and she’s the kind of dog who’s excited to join you on your daily adventures. That said, after the fun is done, Holly knows how to relax. She truly appreciates her quiet time and is perfectly happy to settle in, unwind, and just enjoy being near her people. Available at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro Pa 19508, KL#1257

Story
Sweet momma, Utopia and her five day old pups were one day away from being euthanized in a small south Texas animal control. Momma was scared and protective of her babies for a few days before she realized they were safe. NOW she is THE sweetest and most loving girl!! She is doing good with potty training and is good with dogs and cats. She likes going for drives and walks good on a leash. She's got the cutest little tuft of fur on her head. She's smart and likes to play. Her puppies are cattle dog mix. They are playful and happy. They prefer playing with each other but like their stuffed animals. They are working on pee pad training. They are currently around five pounds, and almost ready for their families!! Mama is likely a long haired/wire haired dachshund and the pups have the low rider qualities with heeler markings- ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!! Any one of these pups or mama Utopia will make an awesome addition to your family... you have to take that first step... FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION!! Hurry, this family is ready!!! Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Peanut is almost 4 years old and has some training. She absolutely loves people. She is great with older children but does not do as well with younger children who are still learning how to treat animals kindly. Loves to be around humans and will give you lots of kisses. Needs someone with the time to play with her and give her lots of love. Will come with bed and unopen bag of food.
