Story
If you’re looking for a tiny dog with a big love for people, Lilly is already practicing her happy dance for you. She doesn’t just like humans… She absolutely adores them. Lilly meets people like she waited her whole life for new best friends. She jumps up gently for affection, rolls onto her back for belly rubs, and pops right back up just to ask for more. She is bubbly, loving, and thrives on attention in the sweetest way. If there’s a person nearby, Lilly is making sure she gets her hello in. You have to watch her adoption video to see just how joyful and people focused she is! https://youtu.be/ZqT8F2L5pUg Lilly is the ultimate people lover. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be where you are. She leans into affection, melts during touch, and happily soaks up every bit of love you give her. She’s affectionate without being overwhelming, and her gentle little hops for attention are completely heart melting. We believe Lilly may be a soft, fluffy little German Shepherd mix but as with any rescue, that’s always our best guess. What we know for sure is that she’s 34 pounds of pure sweetness wrapped up in one adorable, compact package. She has that shepherd sparkle and loyal heart, just in a smaller, easier to handle size. At 34 lbs, she’s sturdy enough for adventures but petite enough to manage with ease. She walks nicely overall and may just need a little leash polishing nothing her smart, eager to please self can’t handle. Lilly greets other dogs politely and appropriately. A true friend to all, she is comfortable with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She has a wonderful temperament that allows her to thrive. Lilly would do best with a medium to low energy dog who will give her space as she settles in. She is also perfectly happy to thrive as your one and only dog. This sweet cutie patootie girl is officially ready to find her forever home! Is Lilly a fan of feline friends? Well, she is terrified of them. Maybe she has never met a cat, maybe she met a mean one that made an impression- either way Lilly would like to pass on cats. Lilly could thrive in either a home with a yard or an apartment. She’s small, adaptable, and easy to walk. She would make a wonderful family dog and would especially shine in a home that includes her in daily life, outings, and adventures. Anywhere there are people to love, Lilly will fit right in. She’s a social butterfly who never meets a stranger, and she’s looking for a forever family to shower with infinite tail wags. If you have a pocket full of treats, you’ll have a best friend for life! Lilly is so ready to settle into your heart and start your grand adventure together. If you’re ready for a tiny best friend who will greet you like you’re the most important person in the world… Lilly is waiting. If you are not looking to adopt a dog right now please be advised that you should stop reading now or Winnie Whimsy will have reconsidering your stance on that. This girl will ruin your ability to be objective and before you know it you will catch yourself wondering how complicated it would really be to bring home just one more. She is scruffy perfection wrapped up in a permanently happy little package, with bright, sparkling eyes that seem to find something wonderful about absolutely everyone she meets. Playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being demanding, and endlessly entertaining, Winnie has a remarkable talent for making an ordinary afternoon feel like the rest of the world is nothing in comparison. Go watch Winnie Whimsy on YouTube, then come right back to read more. You'll quickly understand why every person who spends time with her ends up completely charmed. Whether she's proudly bringing a toy back during fetch, rolling onto her back in hopeful anticipation of another belly rub, or looking up at you with that unmistakable sparkle in her eyes, Winnie has a way of making joy look wonderfully effortless. Not convinced by any of that? Watching her bounce through the grass will get you! https://youtu.be/mKJdXGcBom8 Estimated to be around 1 year old and weighing 12 pounds, Winnie appears to be a Terrier mix, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best educated guess. Winnie is currently thriving in a loving foster home where she has earned glowing reviews from everyone around her. She is both house and crate trained, perfectly food motivated, and approaches learning with the kind of enthusiasm that makes training feel less like work and more like a game. We are convinced she could learn an entire repertoire of circus tricks with a bag of treats and one open afternoon. She loves making her people laugh and seems genuinely delighted anytime she gets to figure something new out. She is also wonderfully social. Winnie lives happily alongside a cat and regularly helps host doggies in her home as an assistant to an in-home dog-sitter. Perhaps one of our favorite little details is just how much she adores her feline friend. She doesn't simply tolerate cats, she respects and delights in them as companions. Basically, she genuinely and truly enjoys them!. She would likely be thrilled to share her future home with another playful dog, a confident cat, or both. Her ideal family is simply one that enjoys life. A family who likes tossing a toy in the backyard, laughing at goofy moments, teaching fun tricks, heading out on adventures, and ending the day together on the couch. Winnie has plenty of playful energy, but she's equally talented at curling up beside you once the excitement settles down. And of course, belly rubs are enthusiastically accepted! If you're looking for a dog who brings laughter, companionship, intelligence, and an endless supply of happy little moments into everyday life, Winnie may be exactly who you've been waiting for. Some dogs make a house feel fuller. Winnie has a way of making life itself feel better and brighter. Story
Elvira Clementine Cutie is one of those little dogs who immediately goes straight to feeling like someone you've loved for years. There is a softness about her that is difficult to explain until you meet her! She doesn't demand attention or steal the spotlight. Instead, she has this wonderfully gentle way of existing beside you that somehow makes everything feel a little calmer. Before long, you find yourself wanting to make sure she's comfortable, happy, and never has to worry about another thing again. It's a feeling she inspires naturally, and it's easy to see why everyone who meets her falls head over heels in love with her. Go watch Elvira Clementine on YouTube, then come right back to read more. You'll see exactly what we mean when we say she's the kind of dog who quietly works her way into your heart. Her sweet, gentle nature shines through in every moment, whether she's politely greeting a new friend or simply soaking up the comfort of being close to her people. https://youtu.be/v3MYm--quF8 Estimated to be around 1 year old and weighing approximately 16 pounds, Elvira appears to be a Terrier mix, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best educated guess. If scruffy sweetness was a breed that would be her 1000%! While she waits for her forever home, Elvira is thriving in a loving foster home where she only continues proving herself to be an exceptionally easy companion. She is fully house trained, crate trained, rides peacefully in the car, and has basic leash manners and an easy pace that make neighborhood walks relaxed and enjoyable. She shares her foster home beautifully with other dogs and has a naturally submissive, playful approach that makes her an easy addition to a canine family. She enjoys playing when the opportunity arises but isn't interested in causing chaos. Instead, she's wonderfully respectful of the dogs around her and settles in with an easy, respectful confidence that makes introductions feel simple. Elvira has also shown a lovely respect for feline friends, from the barn cats she has met to the very friendly house cat in her fosters neighborhood she has shown herself to be a respectful in every sense. She's gentle by nature and carries that same thoughtful approach into all of her relationships. What stands out most, though, isn't any single skill or accomplishment. It's simply how she makes people feel. There is something incredibly comforting about Elvira's presence. She's affectionate without being overwhelming, sweet without being clingy, and has a quiet emotional warmth that makes you instinctively want to keep her close. She feels less like a dog you're meeting for the first time and more like an old friend who's finally found her way home. We believe Elvira would thrive with first-time dog owners and experienced adopters alike. She has the kind of adaptable, easygoing personality that fits naturally into many different lifestyles and living spaces, whether that means a home or apartment with another playful dog, respectful feline friends, or simply someone looking for a loyal little companion to share everyday life. If you're looking for a dog who brings peace as easily as she brings smiles, Elvira Clementine may be exactly who you've been waiting for. Story
*Currently fostered in Portland, OR Meet Castiel! Castiel is currently a year old, and we think he may be a wire hair terrier and chihuahua mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Castiel is a joyful boy with a wiry coat, probably moderate to low shedder, and he’s young so he has spunky energy. He likes toys and playing with kids! He tries to instigate play and engagement. Castile is so unique and beautiful! Everywhere we take him, people talk about how unique he is! Castiel is a Good little guy! He played with Jessica - another small playful dog- and he is not too pushy with his play, for a puppy. He played chase for a little bit and would come back up to me to sit next to my feet. Once he got tired he would lay down in front of me and relax taking all the affection he could get. He is a puppy so he will need some training as he gets older, but he will learn quickly because he is very much a people pleaser. When he met my kids ages 4 and 7, he was joyful and wanted to engage with them. He’s very trusting and outgoing. He does like toys and wants to initiate play. He met a cat with us and was uninterested. Watch Castiel's video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BA8uxj60QXw Castiel is currently in a loving foster home and loves to play and take lots of naps! Castiel is a special boy who doesn't let anything slow him down. He is hearing impaired but is still fully capable of jumping up on the couch for a romp and a snuggle. He is not shy and adores other dogs and wants to be everyone's friend. Castiel is a one of a kind guy! It’s not everyday you get the chance to adopt a blue eyed wonderboy! If you are looking for a friend to spend your days with, Castiel is your guy! Castiel is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Castiel’s new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6847277be1ba93663e02dcd5 Please email emilyparsons@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $1000.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $87 surcharge for transport. Story
We got Ziggy as a puppy in Feb of 2022. She has been a great family dog. She is lively, energetic and very sweet. She is great with kids and good with most other dogs. We also have a cheweenie in the home and they are great buddies. She does experience some aggressive behavior toward larger dogs but with a bit of attention I believe she will grow out of that. Sadly, we have come into a situation where we cannot give her the time and attention she needs and have a child experiencing health issues that requires we not have a pet in our home.
