Story
Hola friends! My name is BOSCO, and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Wired Hair Mix (best guess!) Age: Approximately 7 months old  Gender: Male Weight: 15.4 lbs (7 kg)  Height: 43 cm (paws to top of my head); 33 cm (paws to shoulders) Length: 62 cm Neck: 24 cm Chest: 44 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY – In early 2026, a group of puppies and I (including my two siblings, EROS and PRINCIPE) were found after being abandoned in a box on the outskirts of Mexico City. We were immediately brought to the shelter for assessment, where volunteers estimated that we were only two months old. They also noticed we were quite hungry and fairly malnourished. After receiving proper nutritional support and lots of love and care, those kind humans nursed us back to great health! Today, I’m strong, healthy and happy, and am ready to embark on my big adventure to Canada to find my forever family! TEMPERAMENT – Like my brothers, I'm a loving and affectionate little guy (though I’m calmer than those little rascals, hehe!) As a young pup who only recently began going outside for walks, I’m still getting used to exploring this big world and can be quite timid in new situations. I’m comfortable and playful in the shelter with my caretakers and doggie roommates, but far more timid while out on my walks. Despite my hesitancy, I have shown no signs of aggression and even allow strangers to come up and pet me (video). Overall, I’m an easygoing, cautious but gentle guy, looking for a loving and patient home IDEAL HOME/ADOPTER: A patient and loving family who will give me time to settle in and come out of my shell. A family with experience with timid or shy dogs would be a bonus, as I may need some extra patience and encouragement while I build my confidence in my new surroundings. Humans who are ready to keep training with me, especially on leash skills and housetraining. A calm, moderately active household where I can enjoy playtime, walks, and lots of cuddles. A home with a friendly dog companion would be a wonderful bonus to help keep me company and build my confidence! ENERGY LEVEL - Low / Medium. I enjoy playing with my siblings and other puppy friends at the shelter, though my style of play is a little more relaxed compared to my brothers! When playtime is over, I enjoy receiving cuddles from trusted humans and even being carried like the little baby I am, hehe – just check out this video! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Most likely! My calm, gentle demeanour may make me a good companion for kids, provided they respect my space and go at my pace. Check out this video of me receiving some cuddles from my little friend NOTE: While I have been tested with children, as you can see in my video, I do show some signs of discomfort at times (lip licking, stiff body, tail tucked, etc.). I need an adopter who understands dog body language, can recognize signs of stress or overwhelm, and will advocate for my space when I need a break.  Dogs –  Yes. I get along wonderfully with dogs at the shelter, and do well with slow introductions to new doggies while out on my walks (video)! Cats – Unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I enjoy going out for walks and sniffing everything around me! As walking on leash is still quite new to me, I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, I will gradually discover that the world beyond the shelter can be a safe and enjoyable place for me! Check out this video to see how well I’m doing on-leash already! House trained – Work in progress. As I’m still a young pup, frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada. I was malnourished when I was first brought to the shelter but have since gained some healthy wait! Continued monitoring of my diet with a veterinarian will ensure I’m receiving all the vitamins and nutrients I need to stay a happy and healthy boy! NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax ($750.00 + 5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process.
