Story
Marianne is a 3 year old, 20 lb cutie. She does well with other dogs and enjoys being following you around. She is a shy girl who does warm up with time and will soon be your shadow. Marianne is crate-trained and doing well with potty training in her foster home. She is working on leash walking but doesn't have it down just yet, plus she won't potty on leash, so she does REQUIRE a fenced in yard, however...she can climb chain link, so unfortunately, people with chain link fences are not a match. Due to her shy nature, she is not a match for children under 10. She is VERY food motivated and loves to eat treats and dog food. She enjoys lounging around the fenced in yard, laying in the sun. To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $350, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Darwin is a 3.5 year old, 25 lb sweetheart. He does well with other dogs and enjoys being right by your side. Seriously, this sweet boy would love to snuggle up right next to you in bed or on the couch. Darwin is crate-trained and doing well with potty training in his foster home. He is working on leash walking but doesn't have it down just yet, plus he won't potty on leash, so he does REQUIRE a fenced in yard, however...he can climb chain link, so unfortunately, people with chain link fences are not a match. Introducing Trixie, the delightful 2-year-old, 17-pound female Chihuahua mix with a charming short coat, a curly tail, and eyes that reflect her soulful spirit. Trixie did come to the Humane Society as low heartworm positive but was treated. She loves being picked up and carried but is also doing well with her leash walking. She will need some time to learn a little potty training. She is used to having a yard to run and play in, so she would do best with a fenced in yard. She is also use to having companions so would also love another dog to play with. If you're interested in adopting Trixie please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. Trixie says come and meet me!

Sorrento (SoSo) is the sweetest and most gentle little dog. She is so content just to be with you and follows you around wherever you go and then just settles, down and goes to sleep. She follows commands quite well, loves her food and snacks and short walks. Not really interested in toys and bones. She gets along well with adults, kids and dogs. I don’t know about cats. She would be a perfect companion for a retired couple or single adult who is not too active. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
