Ivy is a 5-6 year old, 10 lb girl. She came to us with her two puppies who have since been adopted. Now, it's this mama's turn! Though shy at first, as soon as she warms up, she is your shadow. She just needs patience to get to that point. Ivy is great with other dogs and cats. She is crate-trained and doing well with house-training. She enjoys sleeping in bed and snuggling up right next to you. Ivy enjoys following the other dogs around and learning from them. She is not comfortable on a leash with people she doesn't know and does REQUIRE a fenced in yard. Ivy is pretty quiet in her foster home and very low maintenance. Otter is a 2-year-old, 11 lb Xoloitzcuintli mix with a sweet, loving personality. She is happiest when she’s right by your side and truly enjoys being close to her people. Otter is both toy- and food-motivated and loves carrying her toys around, proudly squeaking them as she goes. She enjoys running and playing with other dogs and can happily have dog friends for playtime. However, Otter does not do well sharing resources like toys, so to truly thrive, she needs a home as an only dog. Playdates and supervised romps with other dogs are still a great fit for her! Otter is currently not comfortable walking on leash. We are actively working with her on this, but at this time she requires a securely fenced yard so she can safely exercise and explore. Otter would do best in a home that can provide consistency, patience, and lots of love—along with toys she can call her own. She is working diligently on house-training and crate-training. This charming little guy is equal parts playful, snuggly, and delightfully quirky. Melvin is crate-trained and has been doing great with house-training in his foster home. He’s a smart boy who thrives with routine and guidance -- especially from another confident dog. In fact, Melvin REQUIRES a home with another dog to help show him the ropes and build his confidence. He takes comfort in having a canine buddy and follows their lead beautifully, especially on leash. One of Melvin’s most adorable habits? He pops up onto his back legs to get a better view of what’s going on around him: it’s like having your own tiny meerkat keeping watch. Meet Piper— an adorable Chihuahua mix! (Perhaps a Chiweenie?) She is around two years old and weighs about 13 pounds. Piper found herself in a local shelter after being seized by authorities in a horrific hoarding case. Due to her lack of socialization, she was at risk for euthanasia. Thankfully, Tiny Paws was able to step up and save her! Due to her past, Piper is a nervous girl and is still learning how to trust, love, and feel safe in this world! Piper’s journey in her foster home hasn’t always been easy, but she’s made great progress. She is still very skittish and easily startled, so she’s looking for an experienced, calm, and understanding adopter who can continue the gentle, patient care she’s been receiving in her foster home. She enjoys snuggling and playing with her foster siblings and we would love to see her go to a home with a confident dog around her size to help show her the ropes! What Piper needs most is a consistent environment where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. With time, love, and patience, we know this sweet girl will continue to shine! Piper is not comfortable on a leash and will require a secure, private fenced-in yard where she can safely play, explore, and potty. Preston is a 2-year-old mixed breed cutie who weighs 14 pounds. Preston and his sister Penny came from a hoarding situation that landed them in a local county shelter. Due to their skittish nature and fear of humans, they were at a high risk for euthanasia. Luckily for them, Tiny Paws was able to step up and pull them from the shelter. They have since come a long way. Penny has found herself a new home and now we are looking for a foster-to-adopt or adopter for Preston. We are confident he will thrive in the right home. Preston has made so much progress in his foster home and is ready for a forever home to call his own. He needs a home with a fenced yard where he can safely run and play, and ideally a dog friend around his size or larger than him that can continue to show him the ropes of the sweet life! He enjoys playing in the yard with the other dogs in his foster home, but also loves playing with toys, even by himself! He will toss a toy up in the air and entertain himself. When he is done playing, he likes to curl up on the couch for a nap. We know he will continue to thrive with the right family. If you feel Preston may be the right fit for your home, apply today!
