Story
Ivy is a 5-6 year old, 10 lb girl. She came to us with her two puppies who have since been adopted. Now, it's this mama's turn! Though shy at first, as soon as she warms up, she is your shadow. She just needs patience to get to that point. Ivy is great with other dogs and cats. She is crate-trained and doing well with house-training. She enjoys sleeping in bed and snuggling up right next to you. Ivy enjoys following the other dogs around and learning from them. She is not comfortable on a leash with people she doesn't know and does REQUIRE a fenced in yard. Ivy is pretty quiet in her foster home and very low maintenance. To adopt this little girl, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $300, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, heartworm testing, and dental.

Story
Otter is a 2-year-old, 11 lb Xoloitzcuintli mix with a sweet, loving personality. She is happiest when she’s right by your side and truly enjoys being close to her people. Otter is both toy- and food-motivated and loves carrying her toys around, proudly squeaking them as she goes. She enjoys running and playing with other dogs and can happily have dog friends for playtime. However, Otter does not do well sharing resources like toys, so to truly thrive, she needs a home as an only dog. Playdates and supervised romps with other dogs are still a great fit for her! Otter is currently not comfortable walking on leash. We are actively working with her on this, but at this time she requires a securely fenced yard so she can safely exercise and explore. Otter would do best in a home that can provide consistency, patience, and lots of love—along with toys she can call her own. She is working diligently on house-training and crate-training. To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $400, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, heartworm testing, dental cleaning, and deworming.

Story
Dory is the sweetest 2 year old, 23 lb Xoloitzcuintli mix you’ll ever meet. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines - precious, silly, and full of playful charm. Dory loves toys and is often seen carrying them around or happily entertaining herself by throwing them around. Dory loves to give kisses and snuggle. She will run over to you, kiss your hand a bunch, and then go back to playing - it's really funny. Her crate is her safe space, and she genuinely enjoys relaxing in it with her toys, especially toys she can chew on. She is crate trained and making great progress with house training. Dory does wonderfully with other dogs and would likely do fine with cats as well. Having another dog in the home is a REQUIREMENT for her, as she feels safest and most confident with a canine companion. She is not yet comfortable walking on a leash, so a securely fenced yard is also REQUIRED to allow her to potty and explore safely. Dory is truly special and will thrive in a patient, loving home that understands her gentle nature. With the right environment, she will make an incredibly loving and joyful companion. Because she is a shy girl, she would be happiest in a home without young children. To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $350, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Story
Penelope is looking for her forever family! BASICS: — Female — 1 year old — 8 pounds — Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped — Potty trained, crate trained — Dog, cat, kid friendly PERSONALITY: Spunky, playful, energetic, sweet. Loves to play fetch. She is not a huge snuggler; more independent and zooms more than lays. “Like a kid with ADHD”, lovingly described by her foster. She is a great traveler; rides great in the car. Prefers to walk/run versus being toted around and held. A kid or other dog to play with her and burn energy would probably be good for her. TRAINING: Potty trained, crate trained KIDS: Met kids aged 6+ and did wonderful with them. DOGS: Does well with other dogs, small to large. In foster with dogs. She can be a bit overwhelming to small calmer (e.g. small senior dogs) that don’t want to play with her, but she does fine with everyone nonetheless. CATS: Does well with them; in foster with cats. OTHER ANIMALS: Does well with goats and pigs. Barks at horses. HISTORY: Came into animal control as a stray with a broken leg. Underwent orthopedic surgery to repair the leg and made a full recovery; fully healed. LOCATION: Currently in foster in Meansville, GA. AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a 2 week commitment-free trial run to make sure things are a fit before sealing the deal and officially adopting. ADOPTION FEE: $150 APPLY TO ADOPT: joyspromise.org/adopt – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Story
Mary & Moe are looking for their SPECIAL SITUATION, PATIENT, BONDED PAIR Adopter Prior to being rescued, Mary and Moe lived in the woods with their homeless owner. One day their owner was able to get help and leave shortly before a freeze, but must not have been able to bring their dogs as they remained. Mary was adopted a couple months ago but later returned as we discovered how bonded the two actually were, and how unhappy Mary was without Moe. DNA tests later revealed Mary and Moe are brother and sister. They are also— — Around 2 years old — 10 pounds (Mary) and 13 pounds (Moe) — Spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped — In foster with other dogs ranging up to 25lbs — Potty trained + pee pad trained — Good car riders — No children — FLIGHT RISKS Once you have her trust, Mary is a top notch snuggle bug and cuddler. She thrives off of affection. We won’t sugar coat it though: Mary is going to make you work for her trust. It may take 2 months for you to really see the Mary that her foster sees every day. Mary really needs someone who is going to be ok with that, taking things slow with her, giving her time, and working on her time. She won’t be your best buddy lap gal overnight. When you finally earn that trust though, it will be worth every second. Moe is a certified food junkie and lover boy. An occasional streak of mischief and guaranteed heart stealer, this boy will have anyone head over heels. Mary and Moe would do best with someone who doesn’t work away from home e.g. 40-50+ hours a week. Even a hybrid work schedule would be beneficial for them. The duo is not crate trained currently. Moe could previously be crated, but Mary was a stressy mess in the crate, but Mary also panics with Moe in a crate and not her, but them crated together doesn’t resolve Mary’s crate anxiety either. Long story short — keeping Mary and Moe in a room gated off has been the best solution for the duo when you need to leave home. Disclosure: Shortly after Mary was rescued, someone Mary hadn’t had a chance to build trust with yet had to play ring around the rosey to catch her to put her back up. When they caught up with her and reached to grab her, Mary nipped in fear. This was very shortly after her capture and a bit understandable, but for sake of transparency and disclosure, we are sharing that history. So…. Do we have you sold yet? I know, it may sound like they need a unicorn adopter. Truthfully, they do. But they are worth it. Someone will love this special pair as much as their foster mama does, and have the honor of seeing the pair as the incredible loving duo they are. They will love you with every ounce of their being once you have their trust, and they are such a fun and loving pair once you have that trust. Mary and Moe will go as a foster-to-adopt trial first. This gives you a chance first to ensure Mary and Moe are a right match for you before adopting. We typically do 2 week foster to adopt trials, but we can do as long as even 4-6 weeks for these guys if you feel that time is needed. The goal is just to make sure Mary and Moe are the right match for a family and vice versus — before officially adopting. It is a pressure free, commitment free trial run. If you think Mary and Moe might be meant for you, please complete an adoption application (it’ll be foster-to-adopt) at joyspromise.org/adopt This special bonded pair is currently in foster in Fayetteville, GA. – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE.
