Griff has had a rough start in life. One of our long time volunteers found him tied to a tree in horrible shape. We took him in to Apollo and got him medical attention. He is young, confused and the shelter noises make him very anxious. He is the cutest and quirkiest pup that would make someone laugh and have a lot of fun. We took care of his medical needs and all he has is a little bit of hair loss. That just makes him more special. At less than a year old Griff has suffered abandonment and neglect. We hope for an active family willing to love him and train him with patience and understanding of his horrible past. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is anxious at the rescue and it's been difficult making a clear determination if he is dog reactive or not. We believe once outside of the noise and with proper decompression time he could tolerate other dogs. This would take time and slow introductions are recommended.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Takira Thomas; takirat@yahoo.com; 214-906-4707 ** April and Avery are two peas in a pod! They are a bonded pair so would like to have them adopted together. APRIL (brown/black) loves to perform surgery on her toys to remove the squeaker. However she is not a fan of having a physician assistant. Loves to go on walks and jumps like a kangaroo when it’s “snack” time. AVERY (white/black) loves to talk and believes your lap is the best place for her sit. Even if you sit on the potty, be aware Lol. Both girls are very good with children, dogs and cats. They love to walk and receive belly rubs while giving lots of kisses. Chihuahua/Poodle, April (brown/black) Avery (white/black), 5 years old, current on vaccinations.  They are housetrained, but usually use pee pads to potty; neither one is spayed. I am deeply saddened to have to rehome these two sweet girls. If it is okay with whomever adopts them, I’d love to get updates/photos on how their transition is going. Also willing to pay a monthly fee to ensure they are still receiving their favorite snacks, food and toys. Thank you! April 29, 2024, 8:43 pm

🩷🐾 ADOPT WILLOW 🐾🩷 Willow is a 5 pound, 6 year old long haired chihuahua that’s just as sweet as can be! She came into the shelter with her eye bulging out due to a really bad infection and glaucoma. She had to have the eye removed but it was already non-visual and was close to erupting. Since then, all has cleared up, and she’s doing AMAZING! She loves to cuddle and does good around strangers. She’s not too fearful….she’s not the biggest fan of baths but she mostly will just stand up on the side of the sink, not fight. She does fairly well with a potty pad but we crate her when we leave or overnight. She’s a smart girl so we’re sure that she’ll learn whatever routines you teach her. 🩷🐾 ADOPT HAILEY 🐾🩷 This sweet baby is 14 month month old chihuahua mix that weighs about 11 pounds. She had her front leg broken, we suspect she was hit by a car, but she had it pinned and plated and it’s healed beautifully. We’ve got a brace on there now, since she’s young and playful. Hailey’s got the most ADORABLE little underbite and her tri-color coat is so beautiful! She hasn’t made any kind of potty messes in her crate and has done great going potty outside. She LOVES other dogs, snuggling and playing. Hailey’s just a sweet sweet girl!
