Griff has had a rough start in life. One of our long time volunteers found him tied to a tree in horrible shape. We took him in to Apollo and got him medical attention. He is young, confused and the shelter noises make him very anxious. He is the cutest and quirkiest pup that would make someone laugh and have a lot of fun. We took care of his medical needs and all he has is a little bit of hair loss. That just makes him more special. At less than a year old Griff has suffered abandonment and neglect. We hope for an active family willing to love him and train him with patience and understanding of his horrible past. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He is anxious at the rescue and it's been difficult making a clear determination if he is dog reactive or not. We believe once outside of the noise and with proper decompression time he could tolerate other dogs. This would take time and slow introductions are recommended.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

I adopted Alfie about 3 months ago, he needs a home that has a backyard with lots of room and quiet, he is very scared of others walking by or other noises. He does get along with strangers but it takes a few hours, he also is super sweet and plays once he is comfortable , he is 6 years old

Honey is a 2 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua mix. She has a beautiful honey-colored coat and white chest and paws. Of course, she has the typical Chihuahua "squint-eye", which is so cute and will make you smile. Honey is a little timid at first but warms up quickly. She loves to go outside and run and investigate, but due to her small size, she should not go outside alone. She loves mealtime and snacks, and she may try to sneak a bite of the other dogs' food. No aggression at all, but probably best to feed her in her crate or another room. Honey is making great progress on her potty training and has already learned to go to the door when she needs to go outside. She gets along just fine with other dogs, but she could also be an only, as long as she gets lots of attention from her people. Story
Dory is a 6 year old, 14 lb Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. She is over-the-top cute with her unique markings, ears that look like she could take off flying at any moment, and her short little legs. Foster mom says she is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved on and get belly rubs. Dory is very well behaved in the house and wants to be with her people as much as possible. Dory lost her back leg due to an accident a few years ago, but that doesn't affect her one little bit. She still loves to go on walks, and currently walks at least a mile a day with foster mom. She can still find a way to get up on the couch to snuggle next to her person. She rides well in the car and likes to ride along with foster mom when she runs errands. Dory loves her furry igloo bed, and is the ultimate cuddle bug. Dory can get a little nervous if there is a lot going on around her, so she needs a quiet, low activity home. She doesn't live with other dogs now, but we think she would be fine with another calm dog. The first step to meeting sweet, little Dory is to submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.
