Story
Meet Fitzwilliam — a 6-pound senior Yorkie gentleman with two teeth, endless charm, and a full-time commitment to being as close to his person as physically possible. At 12 years old, Fitzwilliam has perfected the art of companionship. This tiny boy is extraordinarily friendly and absolutely adores being held. In fact, if he had it his way, he’d spend every waking moment tucked into your arms or riding around town in a cozy little doggy bag while accompanying you on all of life’s adventures. With only two teeth remaining, his adorable little expressions somehow make him even more endearing. He’s truly cute as a button and has the kind of face that makes strangers instantly fall in love. Fitzwilliam can be a bit barky when he first spots someone — especially if he’s on the ground and not currently being cuddled — but it’s mostly his way of announcing himself and requesting immediate pickup privileges. Once he feels secure and included, he melts right into affectionate, devoted sweetness. He gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats and would do best with older, respectful children who understand his tiny size and senior status. He’s potty pad trained, non-destructive, and overall has lovely little house manners. Car rides are perfectly acceptable in Fitzwilliam’s opinion, though he strongly prefers being safely belted in beside you rather than crated away from the action. His happiest place is near his human — always. Fitzwilliam is the perfect match for someone searching for a true Velcro dog: a tiny shadow who wants to be carried, cherished, and included in every moment of daily life. If you’ve ever wanted a devoted little sidekick with a huge heart packed into a very tiny body, Fitzwilliam is ready to apply for the position immediately. Story
Meet Mortimer (Morty)! At just 4 years old and a tiny 4 pounds, Morty is proof that the best things really do come in very small packages. This adorable little Yorkie has a calm, easygoing personality that makes him a joy to have around. Morty isn't interested in running marathons or causing chaos—he'd much rather be carried around like the tiny prince he knows he is, then curl up wherever you place him for a cozy nap. Dog bed? Couch? Blanket? Your lap? Morty isn't picky. He's a quiet little guy with low energy needs, making him an excellent companion for someone looking for a sweet, peaceful sidekick. He gets along well with other small dogs, is crate trained, rides nicely in the car, and does just fine on a leash. Despite being young, Morty only has two teeth, which gives him the most adorable little tongue blep. He’s otherwise completely healthy. Because of his tiny size, Morty is looking for a home with older, respectful children who understand how delicate a 4-pound dog can be. He would also do best in a home without large dogs. Morty may be small, but he has a huge amount of love to give. If you're looking for a tiny shadow who will happily accompany you through life's quieter moments, Morty may be your perfect match. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $345. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. Story
Meet Matilda! At just 1 year old and 7 pounds, Matilda is a tiny bundle of personality wrapped up in one absolutely adorable package. We suspect she’s a Yorkie mix, possibly with a little Chinese Crested Powder Puff mixed in—but whatever her breed combination may be, one thing is certain: she’s cute as a button. Matilda’s story didn’t start out easy. She was found as a stray after being attacked by a large dog, arriving with bite wounds that required multiple surgeries. Thanks to lots of love, veterinary treatment, and time, 95% of her wounds are healed, (one is being left to heal slowly as sutures in this area won’t hold). She has been spayed, and she’s ready to find the family she has always deserved. This little lady has plenty of puppy energy and a whole lot of love to give. She enjoys playing, exploring, and then curling up in your lap for a good snuggle session. Being held is one of her favorite things in the world, and she’ll happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to provide. Matilda likes to think she’s the boss—for approximately five seconds. Once she’s made her opinion known, she’s usually happy to move on and enjoy life. She gets along well with other small dogs but, given her past experience, large dogs aren’t really her thing. She rides well in the car, does fine in a crate, and walks nicely on a leash. Matilda especially adores women and tends to bond quickly with her favorite people. When you’re home, she prefers to be right by your side and may voice her opinion if she’s separated from you. Interestingly, she’s perfectly content when you’re actually away—she just likes to keep tabs on her humans when they’re around. Because of her small size and sensitive nature, Matilda is looking for a home without young children. If you’re searching for a tiny companion with puppy spirit, endless cuddles, and a heart as big as her ears, Matilda may be the perfect addition to your family. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Her minimum adoption donation amount is $375. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.
