Story
I got Rocky as an older puppy off Craigslist years ago. He came from a farm, with horses and chickens and ran with a pack of hunting labs. He’s very intelligent, loyal, and wants to be with his human all the time. He’s in extraordinary good health. He’s always eaten science diet as long as I’ve had him, and would do best to stay on the science diet senior vitality. He eats a third cup twice a day, and that’s a very small $20 bag a month. He’s always ready for a walk, knows the word and sight of the leash well. He’s been leash trained, has a head harness and will not pull with it on. He is kept in kennel when left alone, and put in kennel when someone comes in and out the door. He is very well behaved, and listens very well to his owner. He lives with cats and thinks he’s a cat. He is ok with dogs, but does not want to be jumped on, he’s old. He tends to become submissive in pack groups. He is not food aggressive, we communal feed, meaning everyone eats together but on their own bowls.

These pups are in Normal, Illinois too!

Story
Meet Flash — a tiny Yorkshire Terrier with a big personality and even bigger style! This handsome little guy turns heads everywhere he goes, especially with his fabulously styled ear hair that gives him his signature look. Flash loves attention from adults, enjoys being pampered, and carries himself like the superstar he is. He’s happiest in a calm home where he can relax, strut his stuff, and bond closely with his people. Flash would do best in a home without young children, as he prefers a quieter environment where he can feel comfortable and secure. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with charm, confidence, and salon-worthy flair, Flash may be your perfect match! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Story
**Meet Colt – The Tiny VIP You Didn’t Know You Needed** At just 5.5 pounds, Colt may be small, but he has fully mastered the art of getting carried around like royalty. This 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu mix is happiest tucked into someone’s arms, curled up in a warm bed, or supervising daily activities from the comfort of a lap. Colt has been through a lot recently. When he arrived, he was dealing with a painful double ear infection and needed 9 teeth removed. Despite not feeling his best, he’s remained incredibly sweet and affectionate with the people caring for him. These days, he’s soaking up all the love, soft blankets, and pampering he can get—and honestly, he deserves every bit of it. He’s still polishing up his house-training skills, and his foster family uses a belly band to help prevent marking indoors. Crates aren’t really Colt’s style. He much prefers sleeping cozied up in bed with his foster parents, where he can be close to his people all night long. Colt enjoys being the center of attention and may grumble a little if another dog interrupts his cuddle time, but it’s hard to blame him when snuggles are his favorite hobby. He hasn’t been around kids or cats in our care yet. This little guy also isn’t much of an outdoorsman. Leashes are confusing, grass is suspicious, and he would much rather be carried than go for a hike. Because he can be uncertain in unfamiliar situations, a securely fenced yard is required to keep him safe. His foster mom says if she didn’t already have dogs of her own, she’d keep him in a heartbeat—and it’s easy to see why. Colt is the kind of dog who bonds deeply, loves fiercely, and wants nothing more than to spend his days being adored by his favorite human. Colt is Heartworm positive and has started treatment. Wish Bone will continue to provide treatment whether it's through our vet or by providing medication to the adopter's vet. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
