Story
Please read description before considering. This is Louie, he is a four year old yorkie looking for a new home. It brings me so much sadness to have look for a new home as he struggles with reactivity. I have been able to work well with Louie in managing these issues; however, I do not live alone which makes the situation difficult. I am also expecting and unfortunately he does not do well with small kids. I just want him to find a loving and patient owner. Louie loves attention, cuddles, and playing fetch. Louie would work best in a home that DOES NOT have small children or other pets.

Story
Charlie and Gidget are still looking for their forever home together after being with us for over a year!! Sadly their owner passed away and there is no family that can care for them. Charlie is 12 years old, neutered and weighs 11 lbs. He is believed to be a Pembroke/Chihuahua mix. He is the sweetest little cuddle bug. He is a happy, sensitive, lap loving boy. All he wants is your love, affection, to hang out with Gidget and eat doggie treats. He enjoys playing with his soft toys and keeping them gathered in a tidy pile. Gidget is a 9 ½ year old terrier mix, spayed and weighs in at a tiny 7.5 lbs. Gidget is missing her right front leg due to an accident when she was only a few weeks old. She gets around very well and can climb stairs and slopes just fine, but needs assistance going down some staircases and on steep downhill slopes as it is hard on her back. She will also need assistance to climb up into your lap or sit beside you, which are her happiest spots. She is curious, peppy, lovable and charming. One more thing, when Gidget looks in the mirror she sees a Great Dane! Charlie and Gidget are cuddle buddies and are inseparable. They are both lap dogs and don’t mind sharing a single lap. They eat together, play together, sleep together and they must stay together as a bonded pair. They are both housetrained and will let you know when they need to go out. They are also trained to go on pee pads. They get along well with other small gentle dogs but neither of them has ever met a cat. They both enjoy short walks. Charlie keeps a watchful eye on Gidget and will not go back inside the house without her. They love their doggie beds and fuzzy blankets and lie in them wherever you place them as long as they are together. They will alert you of potential danger with a couple barks but will quiet instantly with a gentle hush. These pups merrily greet you when you come home and will be the perfect companions to someone who needs them as much as they need you. If you can open your heart and home to these 2 sweet seniors please fill out our MHS K9 Adoption Application on our website. Mountainshumanesociety.org

Story
Bonjour! Bixby here! I am a shy quiet boy, a love bug really, but a bit confused after living with my mom for 5 years. My mom said she had to move away to a place where she could not have me, I was so sad, we had been there for each other all those years and never even went anywhere during COVID! I had always lwondered when we went on our road trips, why I had to stay in a different room every-time, all by myself, where there were always noisy people outside my door…and of course I barked like crazy for my mom, worrying that something was happening to her on the other side of the door!! But then when i found out gambling was more important than me, I freaked out!! That’s when she gave me to her sister, who had 3 scary men who didn’t like me, who were mean to me… and then sister got sick could take care of all of her dogs. So guess what…?! After all those years, with open arms, I came back to my loving rescuer And I’m still here because she won’t let me go just anywhere to anyone, ever again, sometimes I still am so confused, and I still worry so much that she will be ok without me, because now my rescue mom says I am a Velcro dog !!! lol I still do love Walkies and I need them, I’m pretty good on a leash and I know some commands and I’m housebroken!! I know how to use a doggie door, and I can run fast. I am always close with my person after I know you, not a big fan on being held, but I do ok with a groomer, and I do need Grimm every month or so. But you’ll find me a cuddle bug, cuddled up next to you on the couch watching TV you’re in bed, and I like to burrow close next to MY person. I prefer someone who likes to take me with them, even into the next room, especially if there’s food involved…heehee which is why I need somebody that can walk me because I put on a few pounds to my beautiful little body I prefer women over men. Crazy dogs, male dogs and big dogs make me nervous! I would like to find another Mom that I can take care of in a quiet home who likes walks, no cats or kids, maybe a retired mom. Please let my rescue know if you are that home and mom. Rescue mom says to tell you that I come with big, beautiful gift bag and food for a year!
