Story
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Age: 8 yrs. Weight: 7 lbs. Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: unsure Good with kids: unsure Energy level: unsure Good with men/strangers: yes Hypoallergenic: no Special home requirements or medical: needs at least one other dog in the home Additional info: Cherry came to us from a pretty horrific hoarding situation where she was being kept with many (many) other yorkies. They came to us matted, filthy, scared but so brave and hopeful. Since coming into foster care, we have found that Cherry is an absolute sweetheart. She is usually pretty chill but does gets zoomies at times! She loves to greet her human and is so excited to see you when you are home. She is great with other small dogs and, given her history, should be in a home with at least one other dog. She is learning the basics of obedience training, but this tiny gal is smart and eager to please. We can't wait to see her thrive in a forever home! Story
Lady Gingerbread is a sweet, gentle, calm, cuddly and loving 10 pounder, another sad senior story of a family whose dog gave them every love she had to give, only to be left at the shelter later in life.  The REAL Bark found Gingerbread at the shelter, and got her in the best foster home where she has proven that she still has a lot of life, energy, and love to give. This 12 year old lap pup acclimates quickly in a new environment where she knows she is safe and loved, and connects quickly to warm loving humans.  Like most seniors her sight in limited in low light but it does not slow her down one bit, and gets around fantastically in her safe surroundings, able to acclimate very well in new ones too.  She is 100% house trained with the ability to go outside for her bathroom breaks every 3-4 hours, and sleeps quietly overnight on her own in an xpen (and probably would not mind sharing your bed either!), and loves breakfast time in the morning (she loves to eat!).  She would do well in a home that has one level, no steps, with access to a safe yard for her bathroom breaks, attended, and someone at home who can let her out every 4 hours.   She can be fine as the only pet, or with other calm dogs, and loves those human laps - small, big, medium, solo or multiple - laps are the best !  She is a happy girl, whether running through the house or just sitting with you.  Gingerbread is the very best little lady and is ready to be your lovebug during her final happy journey in life.  If you think she would be a great fit for you, email us at therealbark@gmail.com!

Story
Hi I'm twinky. nice to meet you. i'm a 13 year old yorkie who was dropped off at a shelter by my previous owner in rough shape. i am overweight but working on losing it thanks to my wonderful foster. i don't bark b/c my previous owner removed my vocal chords. i also have a collapsing trachea so i need to wear a harness, take medication and live a calm and quiet life. I am darling and kind and enjoy the company of humans and dogs *would probably be fine with cats too. I can be shy but that is less so the more comfortable i get. I have a good appetite and i am house broken. i can't wait to meet you please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive. www.apurposefulrescue.org

Story
Slushy is an 8-month-old, 10-pound Yorkie mix. He’s new to rescue and still recovering from a broken leg, but even in his first week after surgery, his happy, playful spirit is shining through. Right now, Slushy is on crate rest so he can heal properly, which isn’t always easy for such an energetic little guy. He’s still very excitable and loves seeing his foster siblings, even though we’re helping him stay calm while he recovers. He enjoys chews and teething toys, which help keep him busy during his downtime. When he gets breaks from crate rest, Slushy loves spending time on the couch with his foster family and soaking up affection. He’s social, sweet, and full of life. He’s been doing great with short potty walks and continues to improve each day. We’re still getting to know Slushy, but so far he has been nothing but loving, resilient, and full of charm. With continued healing and patience, he’s going to make an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a little pup with a huge heart and the cutest recovery glow-up, Slushy might be your guy!

Story
Meet Taz! This scruffy little one is an 8-year-old Yorkie mix weighing a dainty 6 lbs. Taz was an extremely nervous boy when he first entered our care, so he's been decompressing in his loving foster home and adjusting to this new normal. His foster has been taking things slow, letting Taz go at his own pace, and he's slowly beginning to open up to show his true personality. This sweet guy loves food and gets excited anytime there are treats around. Taz will need a patient adopter who's willing to take things slow and give him the time he needs to settle into his forever home. This sweet little pup has so much love to give—he just needs someone to show him what it means to be loved in return. If you’re ready to welcome a deserving senior pup into your home to enjoy his golden years, consider Taz.

If you would like to adopt MUFFIN and/or one of his siblings, please TEXT (714) 882-9865 and complete the online application @ www.RescueMePets.com/forms
