Story
Meet Toby, a 7-pound male Yorkie Poo with a shy demeanor and a heart full of potential. Toby has experienced a lack of socialization, making him wary of new people and situations. He can be hard to catch, but once you have him, he calms down when held, finding comfort in your arms. The uncertainty and unknown of humans make Toby fearful, but he adores chicken and will take treats right out of your hand. This treat-loving boy just needs time to blossom and learn to trust. Although he likes to keep to himself like a classic introvert, with patience and gentle encouragement, Toby will quickly learn to trust and open up.Toby is very scared and shy of humans and flinches when petted, but he's making progress. He came in extremely matted and is now experiencing the comfort of a well-groomed coat, which will surely help him come out of his shell even more. Are you ready to provide the time, patience, and love Toby needs to feel safe and secure? With your help, Toby will grow into the wonderful companion he's meant to be.- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Cannon, and I am a little Yorkiepoo boy who is 7 years old, and I weigh 9 pounds. I am very afraid of this big new world so I must have a quiet, all-adult home and a sibling to help me learn the ropes would be ideal. If you have been waiting for a gorgeous Yorkiepoo boy please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Cannon 021724-32  July 14, 2024, 9:00 pm
