Story
Senior sweetie Gidget is looking for a family to live out her golden years with.
BASICS:
– Female
– 13 years old
– 8 pounds
– Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, recent bloodwork, recent dental
– Dog friendly
– Mostly potty trained, pad trained in lieu
– Couch potato with little bursts of spunk
PERSONALITY: Gidget is an adorable little sweetheart! She loves belly rubs & she loves her toys. She would be happiest with an adopter she could snuggle up with at night. And provide her with plenty of soft comfort bedding during the day. And toys... ALL the toys. Gidget can be shy and timid at first, but warms up quickly.
ENERGY: Her energy level is mostly Couch Potato with little bursts of energy - for food, treats, toys & playtime, etc. She's 13 but still has a nice amount of spunk. She does the cutest little "happy dance" when she's anticipating her food.
DOGS: She is dog friendly with other seniors and might even play with the right companion. She appreciates her own space though and will make her displeasure known should anyone cross her invisible boundaries. (typical senior dog behavior)
POTTY: She is "mostly" house trained, though she will not tell you when she needs out. So potty pads are a must. She'll use the potty pads but might not always hit her mark. (even if you add extra potty pads) I would suggest placing potty pads over any carpet you'd like to keep safe, as she doesn't always make the distinction between the two.
CRATE: She is crate trained but can have her moments. She would do best in a home that didn't require her to be crated 8 plus hours a day though. (she might be safe to leave out, eventually, or maybe in her own room when no one is home - she doesn't get into anything, unless food is involved)
CAR: She quietly rides in a travel crate.
MEDICAL: Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. Recent bloodwork done (nothing concerning). Recent dental done (cleaned and 8 teeth removed). A few typical senior type things, e.g. some arthritis and dry eye, but no major medical issues known. Mammary tumors were noted when she was recently spayed, but doctor believes they may decrease in size or remain stable in size as her estrogen levels drop (due to finally being spayed).
LOCATION: In foster in Dallas, GA.
AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a two week, commitment free and pressure free, trial run to make sure things are a match before sealing the deal.
