Story
Senior sweetie Gidget is looking for a family to live out her golden years with. BASICS: – Female – 13 years old – 8 pounds – Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, recent bloodwork, recent dental – Dog friendly – Mostly potty trained, pad trained in lieu – Couch potato with little bursts of spunk PERSONALITY: Gidget is an adorable little sweetheart! She loves belly rubs & she loves her toys. She would be happiest with an adopter she could snuggle up with at night. And provide her with plenty of soft comfort bedding during the day. And toys... ALL the toys. Gidget can be shy and timid at first, but warms up quickly. ENERGY: Her energy level is mostly Couch Potato with little bursts of energy - for food, treats, toys & playtime, etc. She's 13 but still has a nice amount of spunk. She does the cutest little "happy dance" when she's anticipating her food. DOGS: She is dog friendly with other seniors and might even play with the right companion. She appreciates her own space though and will make her displeasure known should anyone cross her invisible boundaries. (typical senior dog behavior) POTTY: She is "mostly" house trained, though she will not tell you when she needs out. So potty pads are a must. She'll use the potty pads but might not always hit her mark. (even if you add extra potty pads) I would suggest placing potty pads over any carpet you'd like to keep safe, as she doesn't always make the distinction between the two. CRATE: She is crate trained but can have her moments. She would do best in a home that didn't require her to be crated 8 plus hours a day though. (she might be safe to leave out, eventually, or maybe in her own room when no one is home - she doesn't get into anything, unless food is involved) CAR: She quietly rides in a travel crate. MEDICAL: Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. Recent bloodwork done (nothing concerning). Recent dental done (cleaned and 8 teeth removed). A few typical senior type things, e.g. some arthritis and dry eye, but no major medical issues known. Mammary tumors were noted when she was recently spayed, but doctor believes they may decrease in size or remain stable in size as her estrogen levels drop (due to finally being spayed). LOCATION: In foster in Dallas, GA. AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a two week, commitment free and pressure free, trial run to make sure things are a match before sealing the deal. Your inquiry will not be seen until you complete an actual application at joyspromise.org/adopt

Story
Cocoa is a sweet, chill, and affectionate 6‑year‑old pup who’s been part of our family since she was a puppy during COVID. She grew up alongside us and was present for the birth of our two boys, always calm, loving, and loyal. She loves snuggles, belly rubs, and playing catch with her ball. Cocoa is also attentive and protective, she’ll gladly alert you when someone’s at the door. With her relaxed temperament and big heart, she makes a wonderful companion. We are heartbroken to rehome her due to our son’s severe allergy to dog dander. We’re looking for a home filled with love, patience, and fun where Cocoa can continue to thrive and be cherished.

Story
Meet Charlie – Your Pocket-Sized Best Friend with a Big Heart  Charlie is a 2–3 year-old Yorkie/Schnauzer mix weighing around 16 pounds, and he is pure joy wrapped up in a small, scruffy package. Charlie greets life with a happy, playful spirit that’s impossible not to smile at. Charlie is incredibly social and would thrive in a home with another playful dog who can be his buddy for zoomies, games, and backyard adventures. He’s a lover boy who not only loves to be held, but also a toy-loving, fun-chasing, tail-wagging kind of boy… honestly, he might pick his toys over food if given the choice! His happiest moments are running freely in a fenced yard with his doggie friends, playing, exploring, and also being part of the action with his people. ✨ What makes Charlie special: Friendly, social, and affectionate with everyone Loves other dogs and would adore a playmate Energetic, playful, and full of happy personality About 16 lbs—perfect small companion size Thrives with space to run and play Charlie is also a homebody at heart and would do best in a stable, loving home where he can stay close to his person and enjoy a predictable, comforting routine.  A little note from his care team: Charlie does require daily eye medication and may need ongoing eye drops long-term. It’s simply part of his care routine—and it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He takes it all in stride, and it’s a small thing compared to the huge amount of love, joy, and companionship he gives every single day. Because when you meet Charlie, you don’t see “medication needs”—you see a happy little dog with the sweetest soul, the gentlest heart, and a personality that fills an entire room. He’s the kind of dog who makes life lighter, funnier, and a whole lot more loving.  April 14, 2026, 2:55 pm

Story
💜 CORA 💜 Cora is a 7-pound Yorkie mix. She is estimated to be around 5 years old. She came to us after being surrendered to a local animal shelter. Cora is the perfect blend of a calm and loving. From the moment you meet her, she is sweet and friendly. She warms up instantly to new people and is always ready to make a new best friend. This little lady is the perfect sized lap dog. Which is great because she loves being in her persons lap soaking up all the love and attention you’re willing to give. She’s also quiet, making her an easy and peaceful addition to just about any home environment. Cora gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, but she’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only. She is very food-motivated, which should make training a breeze! With consistency, patience, and a loving routine, she has all the potential to succeed and thrive. We can tell her personality is just waiting to fully blossom in a stable, forever home where she feels safe and cherished. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, and loyal little companion, Cora might just be your perfect match. 🐾 ********************* Cora's adoption fee is $550. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and just had a dental cleaning with some extractions. Preference is given to applicants located within the metro Atlanta area. Applications from outside this area may be considered under certain circumstances. Please note that non-local applications will be reviewed only after all local applications have been thoroughly evaluated.
