Story
This little lovebug came into our rescue with Gizmo and Bandit after their owner passed away. Sassy is a very sweet, loving girl, just 10 pounds, she is spry and energetic with no medical issues. Sassy loves people and is very affectionate with them. She bonds with her "person" quickly. She gets along with other dogs and has no aggression issues. She has not been exposed to children but older respectful teens will work for her. Sassy is housetrained (we're working on crate training), up to date with vaccinations, neutered and microchipped and she's a recent dental cleaning to show off her lovely teeth. Sassy's ideal home is one with another small friendly dog for company. A fenced yard is a must for her since she loves exploring her new surroundings. She spent much of her time outdoors and we want to keep her safe. Sassy is being fostered in Bayville, NJ. Open your heart to an older dog. They are the most often overlooked, but most deserving, dogs in shelters. Applications at www.pounddogfounddog.org. Story
Dog Name: Dutchy Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Sex: F Age: 4 yrs Weight: 11 lbs Medical Needs: None. Housebroken: ehhh, we’re still working to perfect this with regular opportunities to go outside and a close eye when inside and not crated. She seems to pace around when she needs to go outside. Crate trained: Yes, but may bark to display her displeasure of not being able to see her humans. Good in the car: Yes, in a crate or seat belted in. Good on a leash: Yes, though she does pull if she wants to get to something. Energy level: Medium, Dutchy is a perfect balance of play and snuggle. Need a fenced in yard: No Dog Friendly: Yes, but would be happy as an only dog as well. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Cat Friendly: Not sure but we can test. Kid Friendly: Yes, Dutchy loves everyone. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 6 as she’s a petite girl. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Dutchy enjoys playing with the resident dogs who are 4x her size (but don’t tell her that). She hasn’t met a stranger, loving everyone she meets. Dutchy loves to snuggle with her humans and bring her toys to show what a good hunter she is. Dutchy’s ideal home would have a human that is able to be with her most of the time. Fosters Location: Newark, DE If you're interested in adopting Dutchy, go to www.grrde.org and complete our application. If you already have an approved application on file, you can email the application team at GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask them to pull your application. ##2369983##

Meet Mazie Mae! Mazie Mae is as sweet and loyal as they come—a true built-in best friend who loves being by your side. This little lovebug is full of life and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children. She enjoys playtime, adores her bones, and brings joy wherever she goes. Mazie is potty pad trained and currently learning to go potty outside. She does best with encouragement and companionship—if you’re with her, she’s happy to do her business outdoors! A yard would be helpful as she continues her training. While she’s not leash-trained just yet, she’s a quick learner and eager to please. Mazie Mae thrives in the company of other dogs and requires a home with another small, friendly pup. If you don’t have any pets, consider adopting her along with her buddy, Fresno—they make a perfect pair! Story
Meet Fresno! Fresno is a tiny Yorkie with a big heart. He may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he loves to cuddle and be by your side. He has an independent streak, but when you walk through the door, his tiny tail goes wild with excitement. He’s potty trained for both outside and wee pads but will need a little time to adjust to a new home. While he’s still getting the hang of leash walking, the nice weather will make it easier for him to learn. Fresno is great with dogs, cats, and kids, though due to his independent nature, a home with children aged 7 and up is best. He enjoys chewing on bones in his bed and is still figuring out how to play with toys. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow, and cuddly companion, Fresno would be a perfect addition to your home!   Fresno requires another small dog in home   If you don't have another dog please consider adopting Fresno  and Mazie together!  https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/adoption-application/ ##2354752##
