Story
Milo is a senior, 14-year-old, semi-active Yorkie that enjoys the simple pleasures of playing with small soft squeaky toys tossed back and forth. When he's not playing, he's peacefully resting or sleeping with his blanket in his bed. Milo is not much of a cuddlier, but enjoys a few embraces now and then. Milo is a house dog that's house/crate trained and spends times in an open gated space when home alone. When it's time to use the bathroom, you will know :) he stands at the door waiting on you. Milo doesn't mind the company of kids, as long as they are calm and not trying to pick him up. Like all Yorkie's, Milo is curious to see what you're doing and may follow you from room to room. Overall, Milo is a quiet, sweet, and easy-going dog that will flourish in a home that loves playtime and not away from home for long periods of time.

Story
This little senior pup’s name is Subaru. He was born in Japan but raised in America. My father loved Subaru very much but wasn’t a believer of taking him to the vet - my father believed that animals should live a more natural life. Due to this, I do believe he has some health concerns that I cannot afford. Unfortunately, I do not know the last time he was at the vet. Subaru is a strict inside dog though. My father is no longer here anymore and I, the daughter, have been trying to find a loving home for this human loving, socially awkward, derby, and sweet little doggy. As much as Subaru was such a loving companion to my father, I am unfortunately not in spot of my life to be able to financially support and/or give him a loving home. I am currently attending my first year as a nursing student and will be very busy throughout the week with very little income. He deserves to spend the rest of his years in a loving home with a family/individual that lets him know he is loved. Please.

Story
Simon is an itty-bitty 1 ½ yr old, 4 lb, Yorkshire Terrier who came to us as a “breeder” release dog which means she had never lived in a home as someone’s beloved family member. Simon’s foster mother says he was initially shy but warmed up quickly. He is affectionate and appreciative. Simon likes to snuggle up close to his person in bed and gets along well with the other small dogs in his foster home. He is learning leash training and has a way to go on housetraining. He has not figured out steps yet, so he would do best in a home and yard where there are few or no steps. Simon could be an only dog or have another tiny dog, under 8 lbs, which is our preference. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1 1/4 inches, and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500May 13, 2024, 11:48 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Copper Penny is a sweet, curious boy. He hasn't had a lot of human love or contact, but he doesn't seem to mind it. He does enjoy a good petting session. He is slowly warming up to people and starting to relax and feel safe.  He rides in a car well and settles in nicely in his crate. He is scheduled to be neutered and will begin heart worm treatment soon. Medications will still be provided once he is adopted. He is great with both dogs and cats. He has some arthritis but is pretty spunky. Copper Penny will make an excellent a companion. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 14, 2024, 8:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Malin is a well-mannered 7lb neutered male rescued from a hoarder/breeder situation. He is very sweet, quiet, and loves affection.  He likes going on short walks and does extremely well on a leash.  Being a senior, he does nap a lot, but while awake will want to be close to his human.  Due to his age, he would do best in a home without stairs.  Please consider giving Malin a forever home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 14, 2024, 8:38 pm
