Story
Meet Chewie! Chewie is 12 years old, with the personality of a puppy. Although he does enjoy his naps as most senior pups do, he absolutely loves to play with his toys. He loves to play with the other dogs, but his favorite game is fetch. When he brings his tennis ball back to you, he will put it at your feet and wait patiently for you to throw it again.  Chewie loves attention from his people, but he is also perfectly content when being left alone. Chewie is good with other dogs, cats, and kids, and has never met a stranger.  ***Bonded pair with Lilith*** Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
12 year old Finnley came to us in need of some medical help and with her new diabetes diagnosis. She is now on the road to recovery and has been cleared to get adopted! Her sugar is now well controlled with mealtime insulin 2x daily. She takes gabapentin for pain as needed, but that may be once a day or as needed. She doesn't see very well but gets around just fine. Her other special needs are belly rubs and sitting with her people. She’s is a smart and loving little girl. She may do better in a home where she is an only pet, but her foster has 3 small dogs, and she has done well, but she should get all the love at her age! If you are interested in adopting Finnley, please go to northmeckanimalrescue.org to fill out an application.

Story
Ziggy Stardust: The Lap-Loving Superstar Name: Ziggy Stardust Age: 9-ish years young Breed: Yorkshire Terrier with a rock star attitude Weight: 13 pounds of pure love and affection Adoption Fee: $365 Ziggy’s Origin Story Ziggy wasn't just named after a famous alter ego—he's living his own brilliant journey! This pint-sized survivor narrowly escaped the ultimate curtain call at animal control, where he was scheduled for euthanasia. He avoided the perils of animal control only to undergo major surgery for a hernia and other health issues. Like a true rock legend, Ziggy bounced back with the an undaunting resilience that saw him handle his recovery like a champ never even showing like he was in pain—Ziggy's too cool for that. Life from Ziggy’s Perspective Ziggy lives by a simple philosophy: sprint like nobody's watching, then claim your throne upon the lap of a friendly human caretaker. This cuddle connoisseur has perfected the art of snuggling and considers laps his natural habitat to bond with you. He's friendly with other dogs but would rather focus on sitting on your lap and giving you his undivided attention. Based on his personality we also believe he would do fine with feline friends. At a compact 13 pounds, Ziggy is the perfect portable companion who makes walking a fun and stress-free adventure. It can be the Zen time you share. Mostly housetrained (a work in progress), Ziggy wears stylish belly bands indoors to prevent any marking mishaps. His crate training is on point, proving he's got both street smarts and home sense. Special Notes Ziggy's only known diva moment comes during grooming—he's not a fan of front nail trims but who is. Trim his back paws with ease. He might announce your departure with a brief vocal performance, but his separation anxiety has decreased as he's settled into routine. He’s ready to settle into a routine with his forever family . Due to his petite stature, Ziggy would prefer a home without rambunctious young children who might not appreciate his delicate Yorkshire sensibilities. Ziggy is Looking For A forever fan who understands that the most important thing in life isn't fame or fortune—it's having a warm lap to curl up on after a short burst of rock star energy. After all, what’s life without a little razzle dazzle Ziggy Stardust style. Story
Meet Loveable Loki! Loki is a 7-year-old yorkie mix who weighs 15 lbs. This super handsome gray and white boy has fur as soft and luxurious as silk. Best of all, Loki's soft fur does not shed, so you can keep wearing your black clothes! Loki was surrendered to Critter Cavalry because his owner could no longer afford to care for him after moving from Florida to Tennessee. Unfortunately, Loki developed allergies and needed daily medication. Since joining Critter Cavalry, he has seen a dermatologist, and it turns out he does have allergies. Thankfully, these are now well-managed with quality food, one pill, and regular grooming. His last grooming appointment showed no signs of allergies at all, and a change of location from Tennessee should also help. You won’t find a more lovable companion than Loki. He greets everyone with enthusiasm and will happily leap into the lap of anyone sitting down. He simply wants to be near you, whether on the couch or in your chair. Make sure there’s always room for him at night, as he’ll snuggle up close before you know it. Loki also adores the company of other small dogs and thrives in a home with multiple pets; he definitely is not a lone ranger! He is housebroken and can be left loose in the house. While he isn’t a fan of car rides, he loves going for walks and happily trots ahead of you down the street. Loki thrives on routine and organization, making him an excellent companion for a middle-aged couple with one or two other dogs. Although he hasn’t been around children, he should do well with kids over 8 who understand how to treat pets properly. Loki is neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, and microchipped. If you would like to be considered for Loki's forever family and request an adoption application, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. Note that an approved application and adoption fee are required.June 7, 2025, 12:30 pm

&#226&#156&#168 Meet Lil Itsy Mitzi – The Sweetest Little Lovebug You’ll Ever Meet &#226&#156&#168        Lil Itsy Mitzi  is a 12-week-old Yorkshire Terrier/Pomeranian mix with a heart full of love and a personality that will steal yours in a heartbeat. Weighing just 4 lbs, Mitzi is everything you could dream of in a puppy—affectionate, playful, and oh-so-snuggly. She’s the kind of pup you just want to wrap in a soft blanket and carry everywhere in your arms (or a stroller, which she wouldn’t mind one bit!).        Lil Itsy Mitzi adores people and has the sweetest way of drawing you in with her sparkling eyes and joyful energy. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs—one of the bigger pups in her foster home has taken quite a liking to her—but make no mistake, Mitzi is the confident little queen of the bunch! She loves to play, explore, and charm everyone she meets.       She’s doing great with housetraining, is comfortable in her crate, walks beautifully on a leash, and is a calm companion in the car. She’s even gentle and unbothered around cats, making her a wonderful fit for many kinds of loving homes.       If you’re ready for a tiny best friend who will shower you with love, keep you smiling, and fill your home with joy, Lil Itsy Mitzi  is waiting to meet you. She’s more than just a puppy—she’s a little treasure ready to be yours forever. Herbert is just an old man that has had it hard. Herbert has an eye condition causing his eyed not to product tears and his eyes get dried out. He is on a special eye medicine that he gets twice a day. He can see but his vision is foggy causing him not to see very good. That does not stop this sweet boy he still loves to explore.
