Story
Dora is a 10 lb purebred black/ tan, merle Yorkie. She is sweet, friendly and good with kids, cats and other dogs. She is quite the explorer and was surrendered by her breeder who could not keep her confined in a pen. Although we don’t know all of her past but think she may have been a house dog at one time. She is happy in her foster home and fine being crated. She was surrendered matted so was shaved down during her spay. She is microchipped, spayed, up to date with shots, deworming and flea prevention.

Story
Dog’s Name: MiloGender: MaleCurrent Age: 2 yearsCurrent Age Range: Adult (1 year or older)Current Weight: 14 lbsExpected Adult Size: Small (under 25 lbs)Breed: Yorkshire terrierEnergy Level: Low-MediumDog Friendly: Dog selective.Cat Friendly: UnknownKids: Yes, any ageApartment Friendly: YesFence Requirements: Physical fence not requiredCrate Trained: No, but working on itPotty Trained: YesIdeal Home / Adopter: Milo could be successful in many homes. He would be happy in a small household where he’d feel like the center of attention, but he would also enjoy a more active household where there’s a lot going on — he’s interested in what people are doing and seems to like to observe activity. We have not seen him with kids, but the previous owner reported he was gentle and friendly with children. He is quite small, so toddlers might not be ideal.  Medium energy relative to other dogs of his size — he loves exploring the yard, taking a good walk, and having play time, but he’s also content to chill on the couch. Probably lower energy compared to bigger dogs at this age.  Likes: Milo loves walks, exploring the yard and chasing squirrels. He likes to toss, pounce, and chew on his toys. His very favorite thing is curling up on the couch with people.Dislikes: Milo doesn’t like being confined or kept separate when he knows people are home. He’s fine in the crate at night or when no one is home, but he whines when he can hear that people are around. He’s not destructive and could be left free. This happy, easy-going and playful little cuddler loves people. Milo is observant and works to learn your routines and expectations, even if he complains about the rules sometimes (he can’t quite understand why there are times when he’s not allowed on the couch, but he’ll settle at your feet if you’re really sure that’s what you want). Milo loves walks and checking out all the neighborhood smells. He’s great on a leash, but don’t be fooled by his size: he likes to move quickly! He’s a smart and adaptable pup who would love to be by your side. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2640147##
