Story
Knox is a 9-month-old Yorkshire Terrier mix with a sweet soul and a gentle heart. This handsome little guy is still growing into his confidence, but with a little patience and love, he truly shines. Knox does well with other small dogs, both male and female, and enjoys having canine companions around. We believe he would likely do well with cats too, especially with proper introductions. Because he can be a bit nervous at times, Knox would do best in a home with older, respectful children who understand how to give him space when he needs it. As a Yorkie mix, Knox will require regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. He does okay with grooming right now but will need continued guidance, patience, and positive reinforcement to help him become more comfortable with the process. A calm, consistent routine will go a long way in building his confidence. Knox is looking for a loving family who will give him the time he needs to settle in and blossom. In return, you’ll gain a loyal little companion who will happily stick by your side and reward you with endless affection. If you’re ready to help a sweet young pup grow into his best self, Knox might just be the perfect match for you!

Story
Meet Charlie, a bichon/yorkie mix (with maybe a little shihtzu thrown in for kicks) 7 years old. 12 pounds. 100% pure neurotic fluff energy with a light dusting of… let’s generously call it charm. Charlie came to us after his beloved owner passed away. He spent basically the last year glued to her lap, so when his world flipped upside down, he was understandably devastated. The good news? With time, snacks, and a patient foster home, Teddy has started opening his tiny, anxious heart to life again. He’ll occasionally play with other small dogs, but let’s be honest. Charlie's one true passion is his person. You’ve heard of Emotional Support Animals. Teddy requires an Emotional Support Human. Not joking. Imagine Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory… but fluffier… and with more unresolved emotions. He doesn’t need medication. He’s not broken. That’s just his factory-installed personality setting. He's a happy little guy when his environment feels secure. Charlie does well around other small dogs and would likely be fine with cats. He’s been to adoption events and does great as long as his chosen human is within eyesight. He also rides pretty nicely in the car. He will voice his opinions when unhappy. Loudly. Passionately. With conviction. Potty training has taken a hit thanks to recent trauma and terrible weather, but we’re working on it and he is improving. (FYI, pee pads of no interest). Despite his lap-dog reputation, Charlie doesn’t require constant physical contact. He’s perfectly content as long as his person is nearby. He has several favorite cozy spots around the house, including an open crate, but when it comes to bedtime, he prefers to sleep in the big bed like the tiny king he is. Now, let’s discuss Charlie's signature feature: The Pre-Loaded Emergency Yelp™ System. • Scratches his own ear too hard? YELP. • Thinks you might trip over him? YELP. • Tugs himself too hard on the leash? Yep, he's going to YELP. None of these incidents have ever resulted in injury. The yelps are purely for maximum drama. Charlie has no known medical issues and had consistent veterinary care with his previous owner. His ideal home is quiet, calm, patient, and overflowing with love. A soft place to land. A human who appreciates a sensitive soul with a flair for drama and let's face it - is HOME. If you work from home or are a healthy, active senior, Charlie might be your perfect match. In return, you get a pup who thinks you hung the moon (for him, naturally), and a front-row seat to one of the fluffiest, sweetest little weirdos you’ll ever meet. Charlie requires professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. If you have a groomer referral, please include it with your application. If you have additional questions about Charlie, please email 4leggedlayover@gmail.com Adoption Fee: $400, which includes neuter, DENTAL, microchip, vaccines, and current prevention. Story
Harley is the best dog ever. He is lovable, playful, and over all a protector. Even with him being so small he will always protect you. He loves to play tug of war, or fetch, likes to run around. As time goes on Harley has gotten to his senior state. He loves kids especially the older ones. He isn’t a fan of little kids as they pull on his hair or ears. He does have slight ear issues as a down fall. I’ve spoken to his veterinarian and they state that is just what happens to this dog breed when they get to be a certain age. Besides that he is the best friend one can ask for. It is hard to let him go and I am deeply sad but our journey must end. Harley just needs someone who will love him as much as he loves them. And that is all I ask for.
