Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website."My name is Buttons, and I’m proof that the best things come in small, 9-pound packages." Rescued from a life of neglect in a rural area, Buttons is a neutered male Yorkie who is finally learning what it means to be cherished. Born around February 4, 2020, he’s at the perfect age—young enough to have plenty of love to give, but old enough to have mastered the art of being a "chill" companion. A Heart of Gold (With a Tiny Hiccup) Buttons has a slight heart murmur, but don’t let that fool you—his heart is huge. He is also currently being tested for Chagas disease. If the results are positive, don't worry! It is a treatable condition, and A Doggie 4 You will provide the necessary medication to get him back to his healthiest self. Why Buttons is Your Perfect Match Personality: Sweet, laid-back, and a total "people person." He lives for cuddles and is rediscovering how much he loves to be spoiled. Lifestyle: At 9 pounds, he’s the ultimate lap-dog. Whether you’re watching a movie or reading a book, Buttons just wants to be by your side. The Comeback Kid: After being neglected for so long, he is remarkably resilient and ready to trade his past for a future filled with soft beds and treats. The Details Adoption Fee: $400. This fee helps the rescue cover the cost of his medical care and testing. Apply Here: Ready to give Buttons the life he deserves? Fill out an application at www.adoggie4you.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet  Peanut , the only San Antonio resident who can honestly say he’s seen the "bottom" of the city and decided it wasn't for him. Born around  January 14, 2024 , Peanut is a 15.4-pound Yorkie mix who was literally rescued from a local sewer plant. While his past is a bit...  fragrant ... his future is looking bright, clean, and full of snacks. Personality:  Mostly muscle and "Big Dog" energy Vibe:  Social butterfly, leash-walking professional, and world-class fetch enthusiast. Special Skill:  Can navigate a sewer, but prefers your sofa. The "Nuance":  Peanut is a gentleman until dinner is served. He has some  serious food aggression  around other dogs. He basically believes he’s a Viking defending a feast, so he’ll need to be fed separately or live in a home where he doesn't have to worry about "roommates" eyeing his kibble.   Peanut is looking for a human who matches his high-octane energy. He’d be the perfect companion for an  older child  who has a tireless throwing arm and a love for fetch.  His adoption fee is $400 and you can apply at www.adoggie4you.org.  Important Note:  While he’s very social with people, his "Table Manners" with other dogs are non-existent. He’s the guy who starts a bar fight over a single french fry. For that reason, a home where he can be the solo star (or has a very structured feeding routine) is a must Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 6, 2026, 10:29 am
