PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. DAMEON and his 4 siblings (BAELON - VISERYS - AEMOND - AEGON) were turned in to the shelter as strays. But by their mannerisms and as healthy as they were, we believe they were kittens born to a domestic mama cat. These guys are the absolute sweetest kittens ever! Say hello to DAMEON, a delightful Abyssinian Tabby from Hemet, California known for his playful spirit, sweet demeanor, and, of course, his love for cuddles! DAMEON is a true charmer who not only loves his humans but also adores his fellow cat friends—he’s all about socializing and spending time with his feline pals. Whether he’s chasing a toy, curling up next to you for a cozy cuddle, or just following you around like a little shadow, DAMEON is sure to fill your home with warmth and joy. A little diva at heart, DAMEON knows exactly how to work his charm and will happily accept being pampered with attention. He’s a big fan of canned food and treats, so don’t be surprised if he lets you know when it’s time for a snack—his adorable “feed me” look is impossible to resist. But when it’s not snack time, DAMEON is all about affection, and he’ll happily climb into your lap or let you scoop him up for some extra love. One of DAMEON’s favorite pastimes is following his humans around the house, making sure you’re never far from his gaze. His playful, energetic nature means there’s never a dull moment when he’s around, and you can always count on him to bring some excitement and fun to your day. He thrives in a loving environment where he gets plenty of attention, and he’s more than happy to share his love with his fellow cats. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who’ll shower you with affection, treats, and maybe even a few diva-like demands, DAMEON might be the perfect fit for you! Do you think your home is ready for a loving, cuddly little shadow? Apply at workinwhiskers.com! DAMEON is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / ABYSSINIAN-TABBY MIX. He is over 2 year and 7 months. We were asked to help with her rescues and to our dismay, her house was a horrific hoarding case. We pulled 55 cats that were still alive. Our rescue took 26 of those cats into out rescue. KOALA is the eight one to be ready for adoption. And still with us after a year. KOALA can be shy at first. She gets comfortable very quick and is curious about everything. She can get startled, but will come back and investigate. She gets very excited about her can food. He is a very good assistant and loves to help you do your chores (well she will chase the broom and mop). Meet KOALA, a young feline filled with a vibrant spirit and an independent streak. Her sweetness is as infectious as her playful antics, making every moment with her a joy. She's curious and smart, always on the hunt for a new adventure. Her goofy, gentle nature will have you chuckling, while her mellow demeanor ensures she's never too much to handle. She'll flop on her side to catch your attention, her tail curling in delight. KOALA is loyal and brave, her energy boundless. She's a cuddly companion, ready to offer comfort or join in playtime. This brave, energetic cat is waiting for a forever home where her unique personality can shine. Adopt KOALA and let her fill your life with laughter, love, and endless amusement. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! OCTAVIA BLAKE and her siblings (CLARKE GRIFFIN, RAVEN REYES, LINCOLN, JOHN MURPHY and BELLAMY BLAKE) were saved in Menifee, California. The couple saved the kittens and got mom fixed. They fostered them till they were ready for us to take them. They were all named after the show The 100. Meet OCTAVIA BLAKE, a sweet and Abyssinian Tabico from Menifee, California, whose heart is as warm as her beautifully patched coat of cinnamon, cream, and smoky gray. With her playful personality and endless affection, OCTAVIA BLAKE is the kind of feline friend who turns every day into a cozy little adventure. She’s an explorer at heart—always the first to venture into a new room or peek behind a curtain with wide, curious eyes. Whether she's following a trail of toys or just chasing shadows in a sunbeam, OCTAVIA BLAKE brings a delightful spark of wonder to everything she does. But don’t be fooled by her adventurous side—this girl is also a certified cuddle expert. One of OCTAVIA BLAKE’s favorite places in the world? Right beside her person. She loves to curl up for a nap next to her human, her soft purrs humming like a lullaby. She offers the perfect blend of independence and companionship—exploring her surroundings with enthusiasm and then settling in close when it's time to rest. And when it comes to feline friendships, OCTAVIA BLAKE is a total sweetheart. She thrives in the company of other cats, sharing toys, affection, and the occasional game of tag with gentle enthusiasm. Her Abyssinian heritage shines through in her sleek frame, big expressive eyes, and high intelligence. Tabico markings make her especially unique, giving her a one-of-a-kind look that matches her one-of-a-kind heart. Whether she’s batting at a feather wand or simply lounging nearby while you go about your day, she brings warmth, joy, and a comforting sense of companionship. OCTAVIA BLAKE has been raised in a calm and quiet home and would thrive in a loving environment where she can keep up her favorite routines: exploring, snuggling, and bonding with both feline and human friends. Could OCTAVIA BLAKE be the cozy, playful companion your heart’s been searching for? OCTAVIA BLAKE is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / ABYSSINIAN TABICO MIX. She is about 10 months old. She has lived with cats. She has never been around children and is non-reactive to cat friendly dogs. Meet RAVEN REYES, a curious Abyssinian Dilute torbie from Menifee, California, whose spirit is equal parts explorer and sweetheart, wrapped in a beautifully soft swirl of silvery blue and cream. With a heart full of adventure and a nose that always leads her to the next great discovery, RAVEN REYES is the first to step into new spaces, tail high and eyes wide with wonder. This little trailblazer doesn’t just explore the world—she embraces it with kindness. RAVEN REYES is gentle and considerate with her siblings, often pausing her play to groom and cuddle them. Whether she’s chasing a toy mouse, batting a jingly ball, or gleefully batting a lone piece of kibble across the floor like it’s the crown jewel of toys, RAVEN REYES turns every moment into playtime. She has a real talent for finding joy in the little things, and her playful energy is as contagious as her contented purrs. RAVEN REYES is also a total people-watcher. She loves to perch nearby while you work, her big curious eyes soaking in every movement like she’s trying to crack the mystery of what humans actually do all day. She thrives on companionship and adores being pet—just the sight of a hand reaching her way gets that motor running! And she loves sitting on your lap to get lots of love! Though she’s lived in a quiet home without children, she’s been exposed to the sound of dogs thanks to a chatty neighbor pup, so she may adjust to a home with calm canine companions. She’s got a brave streak too—yes, she’ll dart away at the sound of the vacuum, but moments later, she’s right there investigating like a tiny detective on the case. Cuddly, observant, and endlessly curious, RAVEN REYES is ready to bring love, laughter, and a dash of feline mischief to a new loving home. Story
🚗💨 Furrari – The Speedy Siamese-Tortie This sleek, high-energy supermeowdel lives life in the fast lane! With her half-and-half nose (like a custom paint job) and tortoiseshell accents, Furrari is built for mischief. She zooms through the house like she’s in the *Cat-lon 500*, leaps onto shelves like a parkour pro, and will steal your heart (and your hair ties) without hesitation. Her motto? "Why walk when you can zoom?" If you are interested in virtually meeting and/or adopting Furrari, please fill out the adoption application and a super cool person from the rescue will contact you to schedule the meet and greet. Furrari is bonded with her very shy sister, so it would be ideal for them to go to a home together. Together, they’re the ultimate package deal: Furrari brings the chaos; Purrari brings the calm. Ideal Home: A family ready for double the love (and double the fun)! They’d thrive with cozy laps for Purrari and obstacle courses for Furrari. Comes with a lifetime warranty on purrs, headbutts, and entertainment. ** The adoption fee is a tax-deductible contribution to our 501c3 rescue. This fee covers vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and spaying/neutering. Meet and greets will only be arranged after we receive a completed and signed application. Please note that we do not follow a first-come, first-served policy. Instead, we thoroughly evaluate each application to ensure the best possible fit for the pet, considering breed characteristics and the lifestyle of the potential adopter.

Since we are no kill, higher fees for in demand breeds help us cover critical care.  We are always in need of volunteers, donations, and fosters. Please excuse any wait times as we are often inundated with emergencies or short staffed due to the overpopulation crisis. You can learn more about us on our website or follow us here.   Steps 1-2  of the ADOPTION PROCESS must be done before we do OFFICIAL MEET & GREETS or take deposits.  To keep animals healthy,  we limit  foster based meet & greets  to people fully qualified to adopt them.   No animals can be held without a $75 deposit. Deposits cannot be refunded if you change your mind, they are to hold a cat and can result in other adopters being told they cannot adopt. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.  Application:  Log into our website and complete the adoption application at link below: Applications :  Forms (rescuegroups.org) 2. Virtual Home Check: Once your application is approved, check back if you haven't been scheduled for a virtual home check within 48 hours.  A virtual home check to ensure safety of your residence for your kitty (not perfect cleanliness). You will be told during the visit if you pass.  3. Official meet & greet with your kitty at an adoption event, foster care, or adoption center depending on location of the kitty.   We only have a few  volunteers,  so we apologize at times we fall behind due to high demand of some cats.  5. Sign adoption contract and, if appropriate, foster to adopt clause. 6. Pay adoption fee via zelle using act2rescue@gmail.com (not our phone number) or using cash. We can accept cards at adoption events but the terminal charges fees that are pretty high so it's not the best option.  7. Take your kitty home. Be sure to isolate kitty while they adjust to your home. We may check in from time to time to be sure you do not need any additional support because we love hearing how our kitties are doing. As volunteer staff, happy stories are literally our paycheck.  8. Check out our website https://act2rescue.org for resources, blogs and info on how to best take care of your new kitty. Our professional behavior coach is available via text to assist you with transition as well. We also have a Facebook group to interact with our behavior coach and other kitten care experts, as well as our A2R family like you! ****Please note, we do not have dedicated staff for phone lines so please text instead of calling. If the cat/kitten is listed, they are available. However, they could have pending applications or meet and greets scheduled. Filling out an application and approval does not obligate you to adopt the kitty. If they are not a fit...we have plenty of other kitties for adoption. This kitty has received at least two FVCRP vaccines, rabies if over 4 months, Revolution for fleas/ticks/heartworms/stomach parasites/ear mites, de-wormer, sterilization*, and microchip (you must register for it to work but it's free).  All kitties are given a general wellness check by a veterinarian prior to sterilization.  Deposits: The only way we can hold a kitty is with a non-refundable (if you decide not to adopt within 2 weeks not if we void the adoption) deposit of $75. We reserve the right to void the adoption up until the point the contract is signed. If we cancel the adoption (for kitty health or other issues) we will refund your deposit. If you wait longer than 2 weeks, we cannot hold the kitty due to space constraints. Your deposit could be used on another kitty. If you decide not to adopt at all, any deposit will go to the care of animals rescued with us and may be written off as a donation.   Foster to Adopt: Kittens must be 2 lbs or 8 weeks and fixed to be adopted. This will be noted in the approximate available date. If a kitty is unable to be fixed in a timely manner, they may foster to adopt. This would be all adoption paperwork and donations would be exchanged and the kitten would go home. Adoption paperwork will have a clause that it is not final until animal is sterilized.  Once the sterilization appointment arrives you must bring them in to be sterilized or the animal will have to be returned to the rescue. You may also have them sterilized on your own and show proof to the rescue. Once sterilized the adoption will be complete. We normally do not do these in this manner but due to extreme situations they may arise. Final health checks are done during sterilization. Any unknown health issues would also allow you to choose a different cat.   Failure to comply with sterilization will result in returning the animal to us without refund of donations. Breeds:  We cannot guarantee breed but do our best to identify possible breeds based on their appearancxe and personality. If you DNA test your furry friend, let us know the results. It is fun to see what the kitty actually is and how close our guess is. Please know not all DNA companies test for all breeds and the science is still catching up so it may adjust later to have breeds we saw. We like to know so we can improve our analysis too.   We cannot guarantee health but go to great lengths to have healthy kitties. Kitties do not live in a cattery but in private fosters for this reason.  Snap Testing: We do not test for FELV/FIV in healthy animals as it is often incorrect in animals under 6 months and can be a false positive. False negatives also give a false sense of security. These tests are best done if an animal is unhealthy to determine disease.  https://www.uwsheltermedicine.com/library/resources/why-are-some-shelters-no-longer-testing-all-cats-for-felv-and-fiv April 8, 2025, 12:03 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Welcome to Act 2 Rescue where you become part of our A2R family! Adoption is an important time in your life and we are grateful to be a part of it. We take pride in offering you a personalized adoption experience with continuing behavioral support as needed. -Mindy Gould, CEO Hello! I’m Mu-Lan, a purebred Modern Siamese cat born on 3/17/2022, and I’m on the search for a forever home with my brother, Li-Shang. We’re a bonded pair, so we need to stay together! I’m a bit on the shy side, so I’ll need someone who can be patient as I get to know them. We need a home with older children only. Once I trust you, though, I’m a total sweetheart who loves to be petted. I’m also a talker, and you’ll often hear me chatting away—whether it’s to get your attention or just to let you know how I’m feeling.  I’m very gentle and curious, always exploring my surroundings and finding new ways to play. I enjoy interacting with toys, but I especially love spending time with my brother, Li-Shang. We make a great team!  I’m also a bit of a cleanliness fanatic—if I see another cat not keeping themselves clean, I’ll make sure they know it! If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, and playful girl who’s bonded with her brother, we’d love to meet you and start our new adventure together! *$500 adoption fee for the bonded pair* I am all ready for my new home! Once sterilized, I will have been seen by a veterinarian, had all shots I was able to get when I was sterilized or they checked my sterilization status and microchipped!  All I need now is you! I am currently living in a foster home and am fully litter trained. Act 2 Rescue will even help you make sure I am able to integrate into your human and pet family with their behavioral coaching support during the transition period. I can't wait to meet you so please fill out an application for me today! _______________________________________________________________________  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please be aware we are a small foster based rescue in Riverside, California.
