Story
Hello there! I’m Ether, and here’s a little peek into who I am  Breed: Great Pyrenees/Border Collie mixAge: 6 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 31 kgCountry of Origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Affectionate, obedient, playful, sweet, lovable Hi there! I’m Ether — a gentle soul with a big heart who loves deeply and stays loyal forever. I may look big, but inside I’m still just a puppy waiting to be loved back. One summer day, I was so happy. I was riding in the car with my family, full of excitement, thinking we were going on a fun adventure together. My tail was wagging, and my heart was full. But my happiness didn’t last. I was taken out of the car and left on the side of the road — alone. I truly thought they were playing a game with me, that they would come back any second. So I waited... People tried to call me, to make me move, but I refused. I couldn’t leave. My family was supposed to come back for me. When they returned hours later, I was still there. This time, I knew. I saw it in my own eyes — the hope was gone. They weren’t coming back. Since that day, I’ve been given shelter, food, and safety. I’m no longer sitting on the road waiting, but what I truly need is a family — one that will never leave me behind again. I am affectionate, sweet, playful, and very obedient. I bond deeply with my people and love being close. Despite what I’ve been through, I still trust, still love, and still believe in kindness. I would thrive in a home that can offer love, patience, and companionship. I don’t just want a place to live — I want a family to belong to. House trained: Unknown — please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health Notes : No known health issues. I have been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2616042##

Story
Hi there! My name Kaya, and here is some important info you need to know about me:   Breed: Anatolian mix   Age: 2 yearsGender: femaleHeight: 70 cmWeight: 24 kgHighlights: brave, confidence, playful, cuddly, friendly My name means brave, which is exactly what I have been since the day I was born. My story started when my mother was rescued while still nursing all six of us puppies. We were tiny and helpless, but kind people saved us and gave us a second chance at life.    Now I live in a private shelter, where I eat my meals and go for walks with volunteers on weekends. I’m great on a harness and leash, and I love exploring and spending time outside.   I’m a gentle, affectionate girl who enjoys being around people and other dogs.    https://youtube.com/shorts/9XaOcRJSlR8?si=4celfC6VsE-xU1LT    I’m not aggressive at all and I don’t chase cats — I’d much rather cuddle and be petted. Sometimes I nudge my way in if another dog is getting all the love — I can’t help it, I adore attention!   I can be a little shy around new people or children at first.    https://youtube.com/shorts/6ZFuTIviFAM?si=SbUD6_zc730W6yFE.  When I’m unsure, I stay still and wait quietly until I feel safe again. With patience and kindness, I warm up quickly and show my sweet, loving side.    Now I’m ready to start my next chapter — finding my forever home in Vancouver. I’ve been brave my whole life, and now I’m hoping to be loved just as much as I’ve been brave. Energy level: moderate Gets along with:     Other dogs: yes.   Children: yesCats: yes Fears: I am a bit unsure around strangers, but I warm up to new people pretty quickly. I will need some patience to get used to my new environment. Training: some  Leash training: I walk well on leashHouse training: I will need patient training Health notes: I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped  My adoption fee is 800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes transportation to Canada if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Every dog is an individual and may behave differently in different situations based on the adopter and environment. Please note:    LALDR highly encourages adopters to research local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Early guidance prevents most behavioral issues. Training should begin only after your dog is relaxed and settled—usually after a couple of weeks. Basic courses, even those at local pet stores, can be extremely beneficial for socialization and bonding.   While most dogs fly directly to Vancouver with escort volunteers, some may arrive via Toronto or Montreal. If this happens, additional cargo fees within Canada will apply (typically $350–$550 depending on the dog’s size). LALDR will be transparent about these costs.    The age and breed of dogs are best-guess estimates and cannot be guaranteed.     Homes with children under 12 are generally not approved unless a dog is known to do well with kids; in those cases, children 8+ may be considered.
