***DOLLY IS NOT IN THE DIRECT CARE OF HAPPY TAILS HAPPY HOMES - We are assisting her current owner in rehoming her at no fault of her own. If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out and application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform *** Dolly is a beautiful mixed-breed puppy (Akbash/Mastiff/Lab) with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and deeply devoted to the people she considers “hers.” Once she bonds with you, she is a total love bug who thrives on attention and connection. Dolly is playful and fun-loving—she enjoys playing fetch, being chased, and engaging in interactive play. She is very food-motivated and easily encouraged with treats, which has helped her succeed in multiple rounds of training. She is crate trained, potty trained, and does very well in her kennel while her owner is away, especially since she’s used to a large, comfortable setup where she can move around and relax. She can be wary and easily startled around new people and takes time to warm up, but patience and treats go a long way. Once she feels safe with adults, she becomes affectionate and trusting. Dolly does well with animals and currently lives peacefully with another dog, a cat, and even chickens. She is curious but respectful with other animals. Dolly does best in a calm environment and is not a good fit for homes with young children she doesn’t know. While she is great with her owner’s seven-year-old daughter, unfamiliar small children make her nervous and she may growl or bark when overwhelmed. She would truly thrive in a farm or rural setting with someone who is home most of the day and can give her the reassurance, structure, and companionship she needs. Dolly has experienced some separation anxiety but is improving steadily and continues to make great progress. She is looking for a patient, experienced home that understands guardian-type breeds and can give her the time and love she deserves.

Story
What does glitter do? Sparkle! This Glitter is no different! She is perfect happiness and sparkle. She lives up to her name in the sweetest, most down-to-earth way. She doesn’t need to be the loudest in the room to shine… she quietly wins everyone over with just her gentle, loving nature. Go watch Glitter Girl Next Door Energy on YouTube, then come right back to read more about her… seeing her soft, affectionate personality in motion really says it all. https://youtu.be/-qsNBLoJoIs Glitter is estimated to be about a year old and weighs around 55 lbs. She has that classic labby look, but as always, rescue rules apply… breed and birthday are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that she is an absolute sweetheart with people. She greets everyone like a friend, leans into affection, and has this easy, loving presence that makes her feel like she’s always been part of the family. She did beautifully with kids and would truly thrive in a home where there’s a lot of love, movement, and people around to adore her. With other dogs, Glitter is more of a “let me warm up first” kind of girl. She’s submissive, gentle, and never looking for trouble. The high energy, quick to play types are just a bit overwhelming at the start. Give her a minute to settle in and she does wonderfully, sharing toys, affection, and space with ease. Think of her as socially polite, just not the first one to cannonball into the party. Her energy sits right in that sweet middle ground. She’ll have her zoomie moments and happily chase a toy or bounce around the yard, but she settles quickly and is just as content wandering, sniffing, and pulling up close to her people. She’s the kind of dog who can match your pace… playful when it’s time, peaceful when it’s not. Glitter is still learning that things like the crate aren’t so scary, and she’ll need a home that can give her patience and encouragement as she builds that confidence. She is a sensitive soul so a gentle, positive approach will go a long way with her. This girl loves deeply and trusts quickly, and you can feel that in everything she does. She would do best in a home where someone is around often, especially while she’s still gaining her confidence. A family setting would suit her beautifully… more love, more reassurance, more opportunities to remind her she’s safe and home for good. If you’re looking for a dog who is soft, loving, perfectly sensitive, and completely full of heart… Glitter is your girl. The kind of dog who doesn’t just join your life… she gently, quietly makes it really sparkle. Story
If you’ve ever dreamed of adopting a literal cloud with legs… congratulations. You just found her. Her name is Zara Belle and she is too sweet for her own good, outrageously beautiful, and suspiciously perfect angel that feels less like a rescue dog and more like a reward from the universe. Zara Belle is what happens when you take majestic mountain guardian energy, mix it with teddy bear softness, sprinkle in saint-level patience, and then somehow make it low-to-medium energy and completely house trained. It shouldn’t exist. And yet, it does. Watch her video and fall in love with her gentle personality: https://youtu.be/7ukyo6Lmq8w?si=jZy9dMLONXbPw26G Zara Belle is believed to be an Anatolian shepherd mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 72 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. She’s not just a good girl. She’s the kind of dog that makes living with a dog feel easy. Fluffy enough to double as a pillow. Calm enough to peacefully exist through the chaos of everyday life. Sweet enough to melt you on contact. Zara isn’t chaotic puppy energy. She’s that perfectly balanced, low-to-medium energy, go-with-the-flow lady who knows when it’s time for a stroll, when it’s time to relax outside, and when it’s time to melt into the couch beside you. She has wonderful house manners, is respectful in the home, walks easy on a leash, and carries herself like the polite lady she is. No nonsense. No drama. Just solid, dependable good girl energy. From what we observed during her interaction with a 5-year-old little girl, Zara showed a lot of really lovely qualities that could make her a wonderful companion for a family in the right home. She was calm, affectionate, tolerant with handling, and did not jump on or knock the child over during the interaction. She seemed comfortable simply being near her, soaking up affection, and quietly existing in the same space without becoming overly excited or overwhelmed. Based on what we saw, Zara appeared to handle the interaction in a very gentle and easygoing way. Zara is very dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced her to. She’s much more of a calm “happy to coexist” kind of gal rather than a super playful dog that’s looking for nonstop interaction. Very true to that independent Anatolian Shepherd vibe, Zara is perfectly content doing her own thing, lounging nearby, exploring the yard, or simply existing peacefully around other dogs without needing to be in the middle of the action. She appreciates respectful dogs that are easygoing and not overly pushy with play. If younger puppies or rude dogs get a little too persistent trying to convince her to wrestle or play, she will absolutely give a fair correction like the wise older sister of the group basically saying, “alright now kids, go find someone else to bother” LOL. She’s very appropriate with her communication and overall has a really grounded, unbothered personality around other dogs. If you don’t have another dog, Zara is completely fine with that too. She does not rely on other dogs for comfort or confidence and seems perfectly happy simply being near her people and doing her own thing. She has also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also appeared to be comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Zara to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Zara isn’t just looking for a home, she’s looking for her people. The ones who are ready for a steady, loyal companion who will greet you with a wagging tail, settle in beside you after a long day, ride calmly in the car, and quietly become the best decision you’ve ever made. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be flashy to stand out. Her goodness speaks for itself. If you’ve been waiting for that easygoing, well-mannered, dog-friendly, kid-loving companion who feels like she’s always been yours… this is your sign. Zara is ready to start her forever chapter. All she needs now is you. We are willing to test Zara Belle with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Window-down certified, calm and unbothered by the world around her... this is Sally. She has an easy presence, is happy to be included, never makes a big fuss about it, and somehow still ends up being everyone’s favorite part of the day. Go watch Sally on YouTube then come right back to read more about this sweet, steady girl. https://youtu.be/uh_GrKOtFTs Sally is estimated to be around 5 years old, weighs 75 lbs, and appears to possibly be an Anatolian Shepherd and Great Dane mix. As always with rescue, breed and age are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that she is calm, easygoing, and deeply committed to the simple things in life- a car ride with the windows down, a tasty treat, a little sweet talk, and a soft spot to relax. She is fostered with other dogs and does just fine around them, but Sally is not looking for a booked social calendar. She greets new dogs politely, keeps it short and sweet, and then goes right back to focusing on what really matters... namely peace, comfort, and perhaps a snack. She would be perfectly content as your one and only, but also enjoys the company of easy-going, relaxed dog friends. Inside the home, Sally settles in beautifully. She is quiet, easy company, and has a wonderful sense of her size, which is always appreciated with larger dogs. She feels like the kind of dog who understands how to live with people in a way that is gentle and natural. No chaos, no constant demands, just a lovely steady presence by your side. And if you needed even more proof that she is a gem, Sally recently spent time with a 5-year-old and was an absolute perfect lady. She was gentle taking treats, listened to commands, and calmly held a front row seat for an impromptu three-minute cartwheel routine. Honestly, it was giving proud Grandma vibes and we loved seeing it. Sally would be such a beautiful fit for a home where life moves at a softer pace. A home with kind people, regular visitors who know how to appreciate a good dog, and a rhythm that leans cozy instead of chaotic. She is not here to turn your world upside down. She is here to make it better, calmer, and a little more charming one slow afternoon together at a time. If you are looking for a dog with a gentle spirit, easy manners, and always ready to take shotgun, Sally is your girl.
