Skadi doesn’t just bring the party- Skadi IS the party! She absolutely loves other dogs, and romping around with them is a great outlet for her puppy energy. Having another dog in her adoptive home would give her a productive way to play her favorite rough and rowdy games, while also preventing her from using you as her wrestling partner- however, having dog friends that she sees frequently may also work well. After playtime, you can find Skadi on whatever floor is the coolest, or even outside- she is a Pyrenees mix, after all! She has a great time just hanging out in the yard, and has been easy to contain with her foster home’s 4 foot fence. She’s working hard on her house-training, too, and accidents are few and far between. That said, she has watched her foster siblings go through a weird portal in the back door but hasn’t quite figured it out yet… we think that, with time, she will figure out the dog door too. Probably, anyway.
Want some puppy fun and antics but also like to sleep all night? Great! Skadi is crate trained and does well hanging out quietly in there overnight and while her foster family is at work, especially with some long lasting enrichment to enjoy. She loves treats and tasty snacks, is a great student during training, and already knows how to sit!
Skadi is about 45 pounds right now, and we suspect she will still grow more and gain some more weight as she fills in. She is a big puppy, but tries her hardest to be gentle. However, sometimes her excitement gets the best of her, so she would likely do best with kiddos old enough to withstand her exuberant loves and who are tall enough to avoid Skadi’s signature “chin nibbles” as a form of affection.
Skadi rides excellently in the car, plays nicely with her toys with other dogs and by herself, crates quietly, and is all about the good vibes. Doesn’t your life need a little more sunshine? Meet Skadi today!
