Story
Dolly is a 3yr female Great Pyrenees mix at about 85lbs and Dixie (Dolly's daughter) is a 2yr female Great Pyrenees mix at about 56lbs and these girls are looking for their new forever family. They are being surrendered to GRRAND as their people can not financially afford the girls, and sadly feel  it is best for them to go to a home where they will get all of the care they need.  They are house-trained and have full roam of the house when left alone and they also get along with other dogs. These girls will need a home with a fenced in yard as their Great Pyrenees instincts to protect and patrol are done best in the confines of a secure and safe fenced in yard. These girls have been together since Dixie was born and they are BFF's, so need to stay together. We are told: " Dolly and her daughter Dixie are both sweethearts. Dolly is a mother by nature and wants to lick up and take care of all dogs that come into the house. Her favorite place to be is outside, whereas Dixie loves to be inside. They are both people and dog friendly and I have had a cat and they both were okay with the cat. Dolly has longer hair and has more pyrenees, whereas her daughter Dixie has shorter hair and looks more like a lab."   As we learn more we will update, but if you would like to inquire about Dolly and Dixie, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org ##2041630##

Story
Meet Rudolph! Rudolph is 2 months old, and is one of the three little golden/pyr puppies who recently came to GRRAND and are ready for adoption. Let Rudolph light up your holidays! Just like the famous reindeer story, Rudolph was the one who stood out first—sweet, curious, and a little unsure of himself, with a nose that always seems to find trouble and treats. These three puppies may have had a rough start, but like the story we all love, they prove that being different can be your greatest strength. All they need now is a family to help them shine. What are you waiting for? Visit www.grrand.org/adopt to take this sweet boy home. **** Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in one of these puppies and have children, you should check out GRRAND policies page before you read further… In a nutshell, GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard… so this means no apartments or condos Apartments and condos can also be tricky for adult only households, as puppies can be whiny and loud, and may make too much noise for the neighbors as well They will be looking for homes with fenced in yards and families with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good dogs! Exercise and direction are a must for these little ones as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! They have boundless amounts of playful energy and need a constant outlet for it! Please fill out an app at GRRAND.org to meet Rudolph! ##2608822##

Story
Mindy is a 5ish month old Great Pyr mix puppy who was found with her sibling Lily. Mindy is in a foster home and we are told: "Mindy loves her crate, hangs out in it when she doesn’t have to, doesn’t cry when locked in it and is crate and potty trained already. She has not had a single potty accident since we’ve had her. She’s shy and timid and so sweet. Obviously great with other dogs and cats. We sometimes forget she’s here, she’ll just rest under a chair for hours. Obviously she is still adjusting and will come out of her shell eventually, but she has spoiled us as fosters cause she’s too easy. She’s still timid, and doesn’t like being approached, so it's on her time once she is comfortable. She will move away, so we are just letting her come up to us for pets when she’s feeling brave enough and she’s starting to do it more. She will also follow you but just feels most complete at arms length. She’s super sweet and will no doubt get over this and be very loving, the only thing I we believe is a home with small loud kids constantly trying to go after her is NOT what she is needing. We have tons of animals and she’s good with all them and even unknown adults coming around, but small kids could set her back." **** Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in one of these puppies and have children, you should check out GRRAND policies page before you read further… In a nutshell, GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard… so this means no apartments or condos Apartments and condos can also be tricky for adult only households, as puppies can be whiny and loud, and may make too much noise for the neighbors as well Mindy and Lily will be looking for homes with fenced in yards as they are Great Pyrs and they love to roam and patrol, and do that best in a safe and secure area, and families with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good dogs! Story
Fred is a 10 month old Great Pyrenees pup that was dumped in a ditch with his sibling Ethel, and found by a good Samaritan. She brought them to her house to clean them up, and had them for 3 weeks trying to find their home, with no one claiming them. She realized she could not keep them and called GRRAND for help as her yard is way too small for 2 big pups like them. Fred is going to be a BIG boy when full grown, so you must be a family ready for a polar bear in your house! These 2 have lived outside and are ready to learn what living in a warm and loving home with lots of TLC and a soft bed and food are all about. We are learning about them so are not sure of their potty training habits just yet, but we will update.  The Great Pyrenees love to hang out, roam and patrol their yard, and they do that best in a secure area. They are looking for a secure above ground fenced yard and a family that loves to understand their breed. They have so many similiarities to Goldens, but we suggest you research them to understand how they are different too.  We are still learning about Fred so please check back for more info, or fill out an app at GRRAND.org if you would like to meet them!     ##2542955##

Story
Moses is an 8 week old, male great Pyr mix who has quite a story... A shelter staff member from a KY Regional Animal Shelter called to say she was picking up a puppy that was abandoned in a box at a local tractor supply! When she arrived on scene, she found a very sweet, lovable puffball that was all alone, abandoned in a box. She immediately called a GRRAND volunteer and GRRAND kicked into action. A lovely GRRAND volunteer and foster transported him and agreed to foster. One of GRRAND’s original founding members and long time board member wanted to call him Moses, since Moses was put in a basket and sent down river, his story sung striking similarities.  Moses will be needing a secure fenced in yard, as Great Pyrs like to roam and patrol, and they do this best in a safe and secure space. If you are interested in Moses, please note the GRRAND puppy guidelines: **** Puppies are a lot of work, and if you are interested in one of these puppies and have children, you should check out GRRAND policies page before you read further… In a nutshell, GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying  A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old  B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard… so this means no apartments or condos Apartments and condos can also be tricky for adult only households, as puppies can be whiny and loud, and may make too much noise for the neighbors as well If you feel you are good to move forward and read more about these little ones... here you go: As with all puppies, Moses will need a home where someone is home most of the time as he will need to be fed regularly, and let to go outside consistently and constantly ALL DAY LONG so potty training can be a breeze. He will be looking for a home with a fenced in yard and families with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good dogs! Exercise and direction are a must for these little ones as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! They have boundless amounts of playful energy and need a constant outlet for it! They just eat, pee, poop, play and repeat ALL DAY!!! It is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work, and if you don't have time for all of that, a small puppy may not be for you! Along with that wonderful puppy breath, comes those razor sharp puppy teeth too, so families must understand there needs to be constant supervision as  children need to learn to respect an animal and puppies need to learn boundaries.  If you would like to meet Moses, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org! ##2618855##

Story
Meet Tyg (Tygrys) PLEASE SHARE THIS POST FAR & WIDE. TYG DESERVES HIS HAPPILY EVER AFTER! Poor Tyg will have been at the kennel for 2 years this June. He's a favorite with regular kennel volunteers. Once he gets to know you he's a big 100 lbs loving teddy bear.  Most people don't come to a Golden Retriever rescue looking for an Anatolian Shepherd mix, which is why Tyg is still with us. Anatolians are very protective of their flock and family. If you know anyone with Anatloian Shepherd experience looking for a fantastic dog, please get in touch with GRRAND. .  Sadly, Tyg has been at the GRRAND kennel for over a year. The kennel volunteers recently had a pool party to celebrate Tyg's one-year anniversary at the kennel - he got to swim, eat doggie cake, and of course, get dressed up! Tyg is a 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix who came to GRRAND in 2019 as a 3-month-old puppy. He was adopted by a couple who sadly had to return him in June 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances. He was so sad and would sit by the fence looking for his people to return. He is now settled at the kennel and is certainly a volunteer favorite! Once he decides you are okay, you will be his best bud - but it takes him a while to warm up to new people. He will try and squeeze his 100+ lb body on a chair with you for hugs and kisses. The volunteers love to dress him up and he never complains; the perfect model! He loves the pool and gets to go for a swim every day in the summer. He is very well trained on the leash and loves to go for walks, but he does have a tendency to lunge at large trucks and vans so he needs a strong hand to keep him under control. Tyg is a special boy. He is extremely sweet, loyal and protective of his people. We believe it's best for Tyg to go to a home with an experienced dog owner, no other pets and no children, ideally with a large fenced yard he can patrol, and few outside visitors. Please open your heart and home for this wonderful boy. He will repay you with an abundance of love and loyalty. #anatolianshepherd #anatolianshepherdmix #belgianmalinois #belgianmalinoislovers #belgianmalinoisofinstagram GRRAND trainers have promised Tygrys that they will educate the right family on how to handle a breed like his. If you would like to meet Tyg, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org   ##1734296##
