Story
Bear Bee is a 1 year old, 60 lb Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix with a heart as oversized as his fluffy frame!   Quick Facts: Name: Bear Bee Breed: Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix Age: 1 year old Weight: 60 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested, but open for a meet and greet Good with Kids: Not tested, but likely fine Energy Level: Medium Fence Required: No, but preferred due to his breed Dog's Location: Raleigh, NC   About Bear Bee’s Breed: Our best guess is that Bear Bee is a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mixed breed. Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mixes — often called Golden Pyrenees — are big hearted, gentle, and people loving dogs who blend the Golden’s affectionate, eager to please nature with the Pyrenees’ confidence, independence, and guardian instincts. As puppies, they’re typically social, curious, and full of energy, with a natural love for the outdoors and a tendency to bond closely with their humans. They grow into large, sturdy dogs who thrive when they have both mental stimulation and plenty of space to explore.   Their ideal home is one that offers active living, consistent training, and lots of companionship. These mixes flourish with families who enjoy outdoor adventures, have room for a big dog to stretch their legs, and are ready to guide a smart, confident puppy into adulthood. Because they’re affectionate and people oriented, they do best in homes where someone is around often and where positive reinforcement is part of daily life.    What to Love about Bear Bee: Bear Bee is a big love bug who adores people, learns quickly, and brings a joyful, goofy energy to every day! Bear loves running around the backyard just as much as he enjoys lounging inside, and he’s eager to please — he responds beautifully to redirection, sleeps quietly in his crate, and is already potty trained and crate trained. He’s very smart and has picked up several basic commands with ease!   Bear has been wonderful with every adult he’s met, and while he hasn’t met kids yet, his sweet, playful nature suggests he’d love them too. He’s done great with the dogs he’s met so far and would be happy in a home with canine friends or as your one and only. He hasn’t met cats yet but is open to a meet and greet. He’s working on his leash training and enjoys having a fenced yard to run and play; while not required, a fenced yard would be ideal for him, especially given his breed’s natural love for patrolling and outdoor freedom.   As a Pyrenees mix, Bear will grow into a large guardian type dog who may bark, keep watch, and thrive with space — so a small apartment likely isn’t the best fit. He is currently recovering from Lyme disease and responding very well to treatment, showing his resilience and gentle spirit every day.   Overall, Bear is a happy go lucky, affectionate, smart boy who’s ready for the good life… and he hopes that life will be with you!   Bear Bee’s Bountiful Highlights: • 1 year old, 60 lb Pyr/Golden mix with a huge heart and sweet, steady temperament • Big love bug who adores people and wants to be part of everything • Goofy backyard runner who’s just as happy lounging inside • Smart and eager to please — already knows basic commands and responds well to redirection • Crate trained and sleeps quietly; does well crated when you leave the house • Great with dogs — playful, sweet, and would enjoy canine friends or being your one and only • Likely kid friendly based on his gentle, social nature • Open to meeting cats with a proper introduction • Working on leash skills — may plop down mid walk when he’s “done” • Thrives with space — fenced yard ideal for patrolling and play, though not required   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
