Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. &#239&#187&#191Jett is a calm, happy 3 month old puppy that is ready to be with the big dogs.  He exercises his guardian traits every time his foster mom’s cat comes into the room.  “Intruder, intruder, intruder” he barks. He does his best to keep up with the big dogs in his foster home when they allow him to tag along.   Jett loves his soft toy duck, bones and every meal.  He allows his foster mom to pick him up and cuddle because she says he won’t be this small for long, and you have to cuddle a Pyr puppy as long as you can.   Jett is working on house training.  He does well with the dogs in his foster family.  He needs more time to become aquatinted with cats.  Jett is crate trained and sleeps until the early morning before needing to go out and potty.    Jett came into rescue with his brother Jasper after being abandoned on a property in rural Bastrop County, Texas with his mom and dad who appear to be Akbash and Pyrenees mixes. He will be available for adoption in early May following his neuter appointment.  Whoever adopts this sweet boy will be the luckiest dog parent ever!  Jett is currently in Texas but can be on the next transport to the PNW.       OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) These puppies can be livestock dogs to farms and homesteads experienced in training LGDs. They also must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience. 5) Secure and visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. Adoption Fee: $375 All of our puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. All of our puppies are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959 Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 5, 2024, 12:41 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jasper is a calm, happy 3 month old puppy that enjoys an easy life and digging in his own garden that his foster mom made for him after she had to remove him from hers a few times. Jasper likely was the smallest in his litter of puppies.  He watches for guidance before taking action.  Jasper loves his soft toy duck, bones and the peanut butter Old Mother Hubbard dog biscuits.  He likes to chase, wrestle and then nap in the yard in the evenings with his brother Jett and his big foster dogs. When you approach him, he rolls over for a belly rub.  Jasper is working on house training. He does well with the dogs in his foster family.  He needs more time to become aquatinted with cats. He likes his crate and goes in at night without a fuss.  Jasper came into rescue with his brother Jett after being abandoned on a property in rural Bastrop County, Texas with his mom and dad who appear to be Akbash and Pyrenees mixes. He will be available for adoption in early May after his neuter.   Whoever adopts this sweet boy will be the luckiest dog parent ever!  Jasper is currently in Texas, but he can be on the next transport to the PNW.      OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. Story
Hello, Nala is 5 months old. She is house trained, trained to sit, working on stay, sits for her food and shakes your hand. Unfortunately our work schedule has changed and we are having to rehome her. She loves to play with other dogs and is super smart. We are working on kennel training. She can retrieve a ball and bring it back to you. She definitely needs a yard so she can lay in the sun!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet BOLT!  Bolt is a handsome Pyr mix who is about 1-2 years old and weighs 65 lbs.  Bolt came into rescue after being taken to a shelter by a family that said he had grown to be "too big".  Bolt is a sweet guy, he loves people but he can be dog selective, he would do best as an only dog. He seems to be fine around cats.  Bolt is working on his leash skills and other basic training, he is a smart boy and is doing well.  He can get excited when meeting new people and greet them with hugs (jumping) but settles down quickly. He would love to find a forever family soon!  Bolt is currently in Texas but can be on the next NW transport.   All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet SARGENT! Sarge is a playful, goofy, and loving Great Pyrenees / Lab mix. He is just under 3 years old and on the smaller side for his breed, weighing in at 65 pounds.   Sarge loves playing and roughhousing and would love to find a home with another friendly dog to show him the ropes and help get his energy out! Once acquainted, he gets along with friendly dogs of all sizes. He’s a great adventure buddy and would love an active forever home that will take him on walks and hikes. He LOVES going for his daily walks and does pretty well on a leash. He’s a very curious boy and enjoys taking his time on walks to smell the roses and observe what’s going on. He does have a prey drive and occasionally pulls when he sees rabbits or squirrels.   Once he’s gotten all of his energy out, he enjoys snoozing on the couch or in the yard with his favorite squeaky stuffed animal. He is very sweet and tender-hearted. He loves to be near his people and will often follow you from room to room. He prefers not to be in a crate and sleeps nicely on a dog bed in his foster parents’ bedroom at night.   True to his Great Pyr forebears, Sarge can be vocal and talkative at times, and he will let you know if he hasn’t had enough playtime. He likes to patrol and will alert bark to let you know someone is near the house or yard.  His expressive talking and sassy side-eye constantly make his fosters laugh.   He can be wary of strangers of all ages (both people and other animals) but warms up once he learns they’re friendly. He likes to have his personal space respected so would prefer a home with older children or adults only. Sarge is untested with cats.   Sarge does have some separation anxiety and would do best in a home where he isn’t left for long periods of time. Having another friendly dog around seems to help put him at ease. He would benefit from patient and consistent positive training to help him be his best self! He is food motivated, which is great for training. His forever home must have good fencing as he can easily climb shorter fencing.    Sargent is currently being fostered in Seattle, WA. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.  Adoption Fee: $275 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations.
