Story
Meet Ben! A young dog with an old soul. Ben is a 1 year old big, fluffy, goofy boy who we think is a great pyranees mix. But with rescue its always a mystery! Ben currently weighs around 70 pounds but he's really a gentle giant. What Ben loves more than anything is being outside in nature, no matter the weather! So he will need a home with a fenced back yard where he can go out as he pleases. But when he's back in the house, he's a perfect gentleman who is quiet in his crate and perfectly housetrained. He will be happy to lounge around at your feet. His next favorite thing is food! Ben will do cute tricks for food, like sit, speak, and shake! It will be a great way to bond with him! Teaching him new things will be a cinch with a few good treats. If you're looking for a pup that doesn't need constant attention, Ben is your guy! As long as you have a backyard for him to hang out in, he will be perfectly content. He does pretty well on leash but doesn't really need walks to be happy. He can even entertain himself if you give him some toys to toss around! Ben is great with all people, loves kids and other dogs big and small, but no kitties for this regal boy. In summary, Ben is a sweet gentle giant who would thrive in a home with another canine pal or two, a nice back yard to frolic and spend his days, and a family to love him for who he is. Story
**Currently fostered in Seattle, WA and ready for meet and greets!** This sweet faced little boy is Herbie Waller! Mr Herbie is just over a year old and a Great Pyrenees mix weighing right at 75 lbs. Herbie loves human affection and is a very sweet and timid boy. His ideal home would be living in a rural area or a home with a fenced in back yard where he can roam and play. City life is not for this boy - he prefers a more quiet, slower paced environment! Watch his video here: https://youtu.be/I5m4o5AciDo Herbie does fine in his crate from what we can tell. He also does well on a leash but will need continued training to polish his leash skills. Herbie is dog friendly and would do well in a home as the only dog or having a dog companion that is low key with low to moderate energy. He currently lives in a foster home with the resident dog and cat. This boy is so sweet and gentle he would be fine in a home with kids as long as they understand respecting boundaries. Herbie currently lives with a cat and would best in a home with a dog savvy cat! Herbie rides fine in the car. He just lays down and doesn’t make a sound. He’s a wonderful boy and we would love to find him the best home! Adoption link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/64c7f21f1baa638d180c167c Questions? Story
The face that drew you to here is Charlie, a brown-eyed boy with a gentle nature and dreams of a family of his own. If you are looking for chaos and wild, Charlie is not the one. His entire being exudes gentle and calm, love and warmth. carrying a big loving heart and all the traits of an adoring, loyal dog. One of my favorite things about Charlie is how peaceful his presence is, quiet company that just feels familiar. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, approximately 1 year old, and he currently weighs 58 lbs. Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of Charlie being a rescue, but we do offer it as educated observations. What we can absolutely guarantee with Charlie is that heart-warming face and gentle nature. Charlie opened up as we introduced him to new dogs, though he didn’t show a big playful side, he was at ease and made connections with a variety of dogs, big and small. In addition to being dog friendly, Charlie was an angel with our resident house cat. You can see more in this video, including him meeting the cat and taking one heck of a nap on our couch. Given his size and nature, we would love to see Charlie in a home where he has space to explore and play. Although we didn’t get to see him run, once he is settled in a home and knows he is safe I have no doubt he will show you what those long legs can do. A house with a yard, a loving family, a mellow-friend or maybe even a feline friend. I can’t imagine many homes Charlie wouldn’t be well suited for. I sure do hope you’ll let him get on the couch though. He sure enjoyed it! If you can guard his big loving heart, he promises sweetness and loyalty in return. So, if you're looking for a four-legged friend who's got looks, charm, and a golden-good heart, Charlie is your guy! If you have any questions about Charlie or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Interested in Charlie? Black Rose is a sweet little innocent one! She is pretty laid back for a puppy, this seems to be a pretty laid-back group. She’s not hyper or jumpy or barky. Which is another reason why I’m guessing Pyrenees mix. She is estimated to be 4 months old and probably a lab Pyrenees mix but we cannot be sure since she is a rescue. She has a gorgeous, soft black coat, floppy ears, and she is about 26 lbs. No way to know how big she will end up being, but I predict approx 65 lbs. Black Rose has a very pleasant disposition. She is soft and will lay on the couch next to you quietly. She can be a bit shy at first but we’ve been working with her and she will continue to blossom!! She’s going to make a wonderful family companion or a best friend for someone. The foster has her on a good routine to go straight out to potty when she comes out of the crate, and she does well with a good routine like this. Buttercup is fully vetted and ready to go! This lovely 2-year-old Great Pyrenees has endured more than her share of hardships, but her resilience and loving spirit shine brighter than ever.In her early days, Missy didn't have many positive experiences with strange people or dogs, other than those she lived with. Despite her tough past, she has shown an inspiring ability to trust and love humans. Standing tall and proud at about 40 KG (though she could gain some weight with some love and treats), Missy carries a snow-white coat that could rival the fluffiest cloud. Despite her size, she moves with the grace of a gentle breeze.Missy is a dog who believes in second chances. She is a bit shy at first, but give her a little time and some sweet talk, and soon she'll be leaning into you for pets and affection. Her favorite activities include leisurely strolls where she can sniff and explore at her own pace, and lounging in a cozy corner where she can watch over her domain like the protective shepherd she was bred to be.Her ideal home would be one with a calm environment-she's a peace-loving lady who thrives on stability and love. Missy gets along well with other dogs, especially those who share her laid-back approach to life. She hasn't had much experience with cats, so a proper introduction would be necessary. If you have a soft spot for big dogs with even bigger hearts Missy might just be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet her and see if you're the forever home she's been dreaming of. Story
Introducing our lovable furry friend! This charming pup is a people-person through and through—ready to soak up all the pets and attention from anyone, including strangers! However, when it comes to little ones, sudden movements and loud noises can startle him a bit. If children are calm and gentle, he's happy to hang out. Although he's not a fan of being carried or lifted up, he's a big fan of canine companions, especially smaller or similar-sized dogs. He's a true protector, but only when needed—stepping up if other dogs are too rowdy or aggressive. Birds? Squirrels? They definitely catch his eye during walks, but with a bit of leash training, he's working on his focus. In terms of energy, he's got the perfect balance—loving outdoor adventures but a total zen master indoors. While he might tug a little on walks, once he settles, he's an excellent leash follower. Busy streets can be overwhelming, so quieter spots are more his style. No guarding resources from people, but he might issue a gentle growl if other dogs get too close. When it's time to travel, he prefers a cozy crate in the car—helping ease those nerves and avoiding any car sickness. One thing's for sure—he's a potty pro outdoors only! Basic commands like sit, stay, paw, and eye contact? Nailed it! And did we mention he's a sucker for ice cubes? If you're ready to welcome this gentle giant into your heart and home, reach out to our team today to make him a part of your family! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
