Story
Clay (A140074) is a 5-year-old AK Husky x Karelian Bear Dog mix who weighed 56.2 pounds on intake! 10/30/25 This sweet excitable boy is Clay! Clay arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new place to call home! At the shelter, he has been eager to meet new people and does not seem fussed by his doggy neighbors. As he was a stray, we do not know his experience with children or other animals. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends. Huskies are known for having high prey drives so take extra caution with smaller critters. Clay was found running at large and has proven to have plenty of energy to burn. He is looking for a home that can keep him both mentally and physically. He should also be on a leash, secure tie-out, and supervised in a fenced in yard. We have found that he loves the game of keep away (but does so in a playful manner). At the shelter, he has also shown that he does have a chill side and will lie on a blanket and relax as well. He is looking for that perfect balance. If you are interested in meeting Clay, please let us know! November 11, 2025, 5:48 pm

Story
Ava (A140168) is a 3-year-old husky x Pomeranian x rottweiler mix who weighed over 30 lbs at intake!11/08/25 This goofy and energetic girl is Ava! Ava was brought to the shelter because she and the 6-year-old in the home were not meshing well. Ava does not like having her space invaded, and the 6-year-old was very good at invading space. Ava is looking for a home without small kids, cats or other dogs. She does not have much experience with other dogs, but she does not like to share her stuff, so her previous owner did not think she would do well in a home with other dogs. Ava is kennel trained and considers her kennel her safe space. She loves to play and knows basic commands. She was stated to have generally good recall and to mind well. She is also said to be housebroken and to know some basic commands, such as sit and lay down. She will bark at strangers but is generally a friendly, wiggly little girl. Ava can get herself into trouble at times, jumping fences, getting into the trash, and eating things she shouldn't (even diapers)! Ava has completed a basic obedience course already, but it may be helpful to reinforce this with a new owner. Ava is food motivated, which is great for training! She was said to love chicken and hamburger flavored soft treats the most! Ava also really likes being told she is a good girl! If you are interested in meeting this little good girl, please give us a call!November 13, 2025, 2:11 pm

Story
Indy (A139475) is a 4-year-old AK Husky who weighed 33 pounds on intake! 11/05/25 Indy has arrived back at the shelter as a stray and was not redeemed by her owner. This is the thrid time since her original adoption that Indy has been back as a stray. It is entirely possible that this is not completely Indy's fault. However, she has previously been known to be an escape artist, and she has shown that once loose she will RUN! Indy has been as outgoing and social as ever, and she is looking a wonderful home that can keep her contained. If you think this might be you, please give us a call!10/09/25 Miss Indy is back and ready for her next adventure! Indy arrived back at the shelter as a stray. A reminder that this girl is an escape artist! She has a history of digging, climbing fences, and even jumping out of car windows. She is looking for an owner who will keep her safely contained and out of trouble! She is an active girl who would love to be your running buddy or your skijor/bikejor buddy! If you are interested in meeting Indy, please let us know! 08/28/25 This pretty girl is Indy! Indy was surrendered to the shelter because her owner could no longer house her. She was described as being a friendly girl who has previously done well with babies and children! It was noted that Indy can be quite the escape artist, so she should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised when in a fenced-in yard. Her surrendering owner stated that she is not trained and we encourage her next owner to bring her to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on her manners. She is a very quick and agile girl and may even enjoy an agility class! Indy was said to be used to spending time in a kennel, but is not housebroken. Getting her on a routine will help her! If you are interested in meeting Indy, please let us know! November 12, 2025, 11:24 pm
