Story
Meiyo "Mee-yo" is a wonderful and very sweet dog! We adopted her a year ago and she has become a real part of our family. Unfortunately due to a change in job and location/housing, we are no longer allowed her breed. We are heart broken over having to put her up for adoption and want to see her happy. Best things: great walker/runner, very sensitive and loving, great and happy personality, wonderful with kids, babies, and cats. Does not lick. Potty trained and only goes outside. Loves car rides. Can become friends with other dogs if introduced slowly. Loves snuggling on the couch and in bed. Is not barky. Challenging things: Intimidating bark, strong and lunges often towards other dogs, plays rough with other dogs, sheds quite a bit, anxious when alone, cannot tolerate a small cage/kennel, sensitive skin to certain foods/coating on chewable bones. Cannot be off the leash unless contained in an area. Will beg for food. Allergic to Benadryl.

Story
You may recognize Dunphy as a television celebrity. Dunphy is an 18 month old handsome, friendly, intelligent guy who arrived to us as a stray. Upon rescue, we quickly realized he had double hip dysplasia. He has successfully had one hip repaired and rehabilitated and is getting ready for the surgery on his second hip. Dunphy was the beneficiary of our January Yard Sale, and Holly Bock with 3TV attended the event and spent four hours showcasing Dunphy, while he was still recovering from the first surgery. He is currently residing at the adoption center and looks forward to meeting you!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact Kylie, 847-854-9920, kcfletcher93@gmail.com:   MEET DUKE #16!! Duke is a happy, loving boy who only want love, snuggles and play time. He is wonderful with children, but he has not had many interactions with other animals, so that is an unknown. Duke is a young, high-energy boy. He needs an active person to give him lots of walks, runs and play time. He is house trained, crate trained, uses a doggy door and walks good on a leash.  Duke has been around other dogs, but would do best as only dog or with dog savvy parents with experience to make sure the right match.  Duke is looking for a new home at no fault of his own. His current is unable to meet his needs and energy level. Are you looking for a big, busy lovebug? Meet Duke today! If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com  PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue. Different policies and fees may apply. May 7, 2024, 9:06 pm

Story
Bryce is an amazing dog, loves to play and gets really excited to see people, he is good with other dogs. Our other dogs are not good with him. We took him in a few months back so that he wouldn’t get euthanized and thought that we could have them get along. Unfortunately, we have to keep him seperate from them due to dog fights. He is a very caring dog and is even good around puppies.
