Story
Hello! My name is Oso, which means “bear” in Spanish—but don’t let the name fool you! I’m a gentle giant with a heart full of love. I was saved just three hours before my time was up at the county shelter, and even though I’m a senior, I have so much life and love left to give! I’m all about people—I love them, like really, really love them. After spending my whole life outdoors, I’m absolutely thrilled by the comfort of indoor air conditioning and a doggy door that lets me wander into the yard whenever I want. Life is good! One of my favorite things is carrying around my stuffed toys, especially the small ones—they make me so happy! I also love chasing a ball and am the best boy when it’s time for a bath. Treats are my weakness, especially chicken tacos (yum!). I’m looking for a home where I can be the only dog because I just want to soak up all the love for myself. I’m easygoing, never bark, and my tail wiggles with joy when I meet new friends. I’m dreaming of a forever home where I can give lots of kisses, enjoy scratchies, and just be your loyal companion for the rest of my days. If you can offer me a place to call home, please reach out to my foster mom, Jenn, at 602-710-4143. I can’t wait to meet you! ❤️ I’m a courtesy post for Valley Dogs Rescue.

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue. Different policies and fees may apply.  Meet Bear! This fluffy, cuddly sweetheart has been waiting for his forever home for over two years after being abandoned at a boarding facility in April 2022. Bear is as loving and loyal as they come—his tail is always wagging, and he thrives on being around his people. Bear is great on a leash, making him the perfect hiking or walking buddy. He loves car rides, especially feeling the wind in his face, and enjoys splashing in the water on warm days. Well-mannered in public, Bear adores pets and quality time with his family. While he’s non-reactive to other dogs on walks and hikes, he’ll need a proper introduction to any potential fur siblings, which the rescue will facilitate. Bear would do best in a home without kids or cats. This happy, soft, and affectionate boy is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. After such a long wait, Bear is ready for a loving home where he can finally relax and enjoy life. Could that be with you? Story
My name is Odin, and though I may not command the thunder or ride across the sky on an eight&#226&#128&#145legged steed, I do carry a spark of old Nordic magic in my heart. I’m a husky–German shepherd mix with a noble spirit, a loyal soul, and one eye that sees the world a little differently—just like the great All&#226&#128&#145Father himself. Some say that’s how I got my name. Maybe I was born this way, maybe something happened long ago, but it doesn’t slow me down one bit. In fact, I like to think it gives me character… and a touch of myth. My journey began in Yuma, Arizona, where I wandered the mortal realm as a stray. I wasn’t searching for battle or glory—just a place to belong. The kind humans at the shelter took me in, gave me food, safety, and a chance to rest my paws. When no one came to claim me, fate stepped in and carried me north to Central Arizona Animal Rescue. Now I wait here, hopeful and ready, dreaming of the day my forever family appears like a prophecy fulfilled. Let me tell you who I am, from one adventurer to another. I’m a strong, handsome boy with a thick coat, a proud stance, and a heart full of devotion. I love going for walks—truly love it. Every scent on the wind is a story, every tree a message, every path a new quest. If you enjoy exploring the world, I’ll gladly be your companion, trotting beside you with my tail high and my spirit bright. I share my kennel with a lovely female shepherd, and we get along like old friends around a fire. We play, we rest, we keep each other company. I’m good with people too—friendly, social, and eager to bond. I might be a bit much for very small children, not because I mean any harm, but because I’m a big, enthusiastic guy with a lot of energy and heart. A home with space—a yard where I can stretch my legs, sniff the breeze, and feel the sun on my fur—would suit me perfectly. Despite my grand name and heroic lineage, I’m not complicated. I’m neutered, current on all my vaccinations, and microchipped so I’ll never be lost to the realms again. I’m healthy, happy, and ready to start the next chapter of my saga with someone who sees me not as a stray or a mystery, but as a loyal companion waiting to give his whole heart. I imagine a life where we walk together at dusk, where I rest at your feet after a long day, where I watch over your home like a guardian of old. I imagine learning your routines, your voice, your footsteps. I imagine belonging—not to a kingdom, but to a family. If you feel a tug in your chest, a whisper of destiny, a sense that maybe you are the one I’ve been waiting for, then I hope you’ll come meet me. I’ll greet you with a wagging tail, a hopeful gaze, and the quiet strength of a dog who has weathered storms and still believes in love. To set up an appointment to meet me, just send an email to mike@caaronline.org. Story
Hello future best friend! My name is Kung Pao (yep, just like the dish—spicy, memorable, and a little bit different!). I’m searching for my forever home, and I think you might be the perfect match! Let me tell you a little bit about my pawsome self. I was picked up as a stray in Gila County back in December, but don’t worry—I’ve bounced back and I’m ready for a new chapter. While I was at animal control, all the staff fell head-over-heels in love with me (not to brag, but I was basically the office favorite). I even went to stay with a family for a while, but I turned out to be a little too big for their tiny toddlers. Oops! If you’re hoping for a companion who’s not bouncing off the walls 24/7, I’m your guy—I’m not one of those high-octane pups who need endless exercise. I’m perfectly content with a few fun romps and some quality playtime, then I’m all about chilling out by your side. I definitely have my playful spurts, but you won’t catch me demanding a marathon every day! Now, I’m looking for a home with someone who appreciates my unique style and silly antics. I’m a very unusual mix—think husky (that’s where I get my dazzling blue eyes!), a splash of brittany spaniel (just look at my soft white-and-tan coat and fancy plume tail!), and maybe a bit of bully breed for my big blocky head and sturdy build. At about 1 ½ years old, I’m just the right age to bring adventure and fun to your life without any of that puppy nonsense. Here are some of my best features: Super sweet personality: I’m friendly, affectionate, and love to make new pals! Staff favorite: Seriously, everyone at Gila County animal control gave me five-paw reviews! Great with other dogs: I love to romp and play with canine buddies. Knows basic commands: Sit, stay, and “look adorable” are all in my repertoire. Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped: I’m healthy and ready to roll—no surprises here! A few mysteries about me: No one knows where my name came from, but I can totally learn a new one if you pick something you like better! I haven’t met any cats yet, so the jury’s out on that. Maybe we’ll discover together? If you’re looking for a furry friend with a big heart, soulful eyes, and the fluffiest tail around, I just know we’ll make a great team. Want to meet me and see if we’re a match? Send an email to mike@caaronline.org and set up a playdate—we can’t wait to meet you! Story
Hi there… my name is Bella, and I’m looking for you. I don’t know much about my past, but I’m very hopeful about my future—especially if it includes a warm bed, kind hands, and a family to call my own. I was found as a stray in Yuma, wandering on my own and not in the best shape. When Animal Control picked me up, I was really skinny and underweight, like I’d missed quite a few meals and a lot of love. No one ever came to claim me, but that turned out to be the beginning of a new chapter. I caught a ride north to Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where I’ve been safe ever since. I’ve already put on some weight and I’m feeling stronger every day, though I wouldn’t mind a few more pounds—especially if they come from treats and home-cooked love. Even though my history is a mystery, one thing is very clear: I absolutely adore people. I’m sweet, affectionate, and always happy to make new friends. If you talk to me nicely or scratch me behind the ears, I’ll melt right into you. And if you happen to have a treat? Well, then I’m pretty sure you’re my new best friend. Speaking of treats—training me is going to be a breeze. I’m very food motivated and will happily work for a tasty reward. I already know how to sit, and I’m eager to learn more. Because no one knows if I’ve ever lived inside a home before, I may need a little patience and guidance when it comes to indoor manners and house training. But with consistency, kindness, and (did I mention treats?), I’m confident I’ll catch on quickly. I truly want to do well and make my people proud. I’ve done well with other dogs my own size and enjoy their company. I don’t know yet how I feel about cats or small children, since I haven’t been around them here, so slow introductions would be best if you have either. What I do know is that I love being part of what’s going on and would enjoy being included in daily life—walks, quiet evenings, and maybe even some adventures once I’m all settled in. As a husky mix, I’ve got that beautiful, intelligent spirit that makes my breed so special. I like engagement, companionship, and having something to do. Whether that’s learning new skills, going for walks, or just hanging out near my favorite humans, I’m happiest when I’m not alone. I may have started life a little rough, but I haven’t let that dim my heart. I’m hopeful, gentle, and ready to give all the love I have to someone who will give me a chance. What I’m really searching for isn’t perfection—it’s commitment, patience, and a forever home where I’ll never have to wonder if I belong. If you think we might be a good match, I would love to meet you. Please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to come see me at Central Arizona Animal Rescue. I’ll be waiting… with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart. — Bella   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
