Story
We adopted Duke from the local animal shelter in Feb 2024. We have two young children and he is a very active dog, unfortunately he requires too much attention than what we can give him right now. He is a very sweet boy, and is wonderful with my children. He is not good with other dogs, but I believe he can be trained out of that behavior. He requires daily exercise or he has a tendency to be destructive. He does well in a crate, we always kept him in one when we left the home. He also used a doggy door, but does ok without one. Duke is a happy, loving boy who only wants love, snuggles, and play time! I know he would be an incredible pet for someone who can give him the time and attention he deserves.

Story
Bryce is an amazing dog, loves to play and gets really excited to see people, he is good with other dogs. Our other dogs are not good with him. We took him in a few months back so that he wouldn’t get euthanized and thought that we could have them get along. Unfortunately, we have to keep him seperate from them due to dog fights. He is a very caring dog and is even good around puppies.

Story
I first met Roku in Dallas, Texas. He is a pure breed of Japanese Akita Inu. He was only three-month-old and just a little tiny pup. His birthday is Aug. 22, 2022. He is shy and sensitive but always super sweet and kind to me. Now he is about nine months old, and he never barked at me even once, never ran away once when I recall him. But when he is with me, when he's growing up now, I finally realize that maybe i am not the best owner for him, he deserves a better home and a happy doggy life with someone who can really spend a lot of time with him. There are some changes happening in my life and I will travel more frequently in the near future. It's really hard to make the decision but I hope the best for him and that he can be truly happy. The adoption fee there is setting a bar for selecting people who is financially stable and is serious about giving him a new home. But it's always negotiable, just reach out to me if you are an experienced dog owner. Thanks.

Story
You may recognize Dunphy as a television celebrity. Dunphy is an 18 month old handsome, friendly, intelligent guy who arrived to us as a stray. Upon rescue, we quickly realized he had double hip dysplasia. He has successfully had one hip repaired and rehabilitated and is getting ready for the surgery on his second hip. Dunphy was the beneficiary of our January Yard Sale, and Holly Bock with 3TV attended the event and spent four hours showcasing Dunphy, while he was still recovering from the first surgery. In the meantime, he is residing with our incredible foster homes who have been caring for him. You may schedule an appointment to meet Dunphy by emailing Debbie@AzFriends.orgNo appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
HTH (Hank The Husky) was tied to the front gate of the rescue after we had closed for the day by his owner. So, we don't know why they didn't want to keep him anymore or any of his background information. He has been good with the females that he shares his kennel with ans pretty much ignores the boys in the kennels next to him. We don't know how he is with cats or small children as we don't have any of them here. We did get him fixed, vaccinated and will microchip him before he goes to his new home. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Lil Hello, I'm Lil, a sweet pup with a tale of resilience and hope. Not long ago, I was wandering the vast desert with my siblings, unsure of what tomorrow might bring. But then, a kind-hearted team from Central Arizona Animal Rescue gave me a chance at a new life. I'm a young girl, just a little over a year old, and life's been quite the adventure so far. I've never really known the warmth of a home or the joy of a leisurely walk on a leash, but I'm eager to learn! With some yummy treats and your gentle encouragement, I'm sure to pick up all the house manners quickly. My brother Phil is my rock; where he leads, I follow. He's taught me it's okay to play and explore this big, exciting world. I've been spayed, vaccinated, and even microchipped, so I'm all set for our journey together. I might be a bit shy at first, especially around new furry friends, and while I haven't met any cats or small children yet, I promise to be gentle with older kids who understand that I need a little time to come out of my shell. Are you the patient, loving family I've been dreaming of? Let's find out together! E-mail mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment to meet me. Come visit me and let's start our forever friendship.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt.
