Story
Zoomer is incredibly handsome and super smart. He's able to master new skills quickly and curious about the world around him. Zoomer LOVES car rides and walks. He lives life full speed ahead, so he would do best with an active adopter who is looking for an adventure buddy. He’s down for any adventure with you, from hiking and camping to road trips. He just wants to be included and feel like he belongs. Zoomer recently enjoyed a short 5-day break in a temporary foster home, and he aced it. While we would usually describe Zoomer as high-energy (hence his name), his foster described him as easygoing and settled in her home. Sometimes dogs who are amped up in the shelter become completely relaxed in a home, and this seems to be the case with Zoomer. He was the perfect guest! They described him as “absolutely delightful” and we have to agree. In the home, he was cuddly and affectionate, and transitioned quickly into his new routine. They described his energy as low-key and sweet. Once Zoomer gets to know you, he’s all about the snuggles. He loves back and chest scratches and will reward you with little happy grunts. Ultimately, Zoomer was excited to be the center of attention. Zoomer is fully housetrained and knows quite a few tricks. He sleeps well through the night in his bed and waits patiently to be let out in the morning. He’s perfectly happy with a quick jaunt around the backyard, a roll in the grass, and checking on the neighborhood through the fence. Zoomer isn’t high-maintenance, and, more than anything, wants to be your buddy. If you’re looking for a silly, happy, loving companion, Zoomer would love to meet you. He would do best in an adult home without other pets. Apply to meet him today!

RAVEN NEEDS OUT NOW Raven is only 10–12 months old, possibly an Akita mix, and she is terrified inside Animal Control. The noise and chaos are overwhelming this sweet girl, and she desperately needs a calm place to land so she can decompress. Sugary sweet personality Moderate energy level Needs to be an only dog right now Found as a stray Fully vetted Raven isn’t asking for much. Just a quiet home, kind humans, and a little time to feel safe again. Getting her out of AC could completely change her future. If you can foster or adopt, please reach out immediately. Let’s get Raven out of AC and give her the peace she deserves Raven's adoption fee is $50 To foster: www.jaspercohumanesociety.org/foster To adopt: www.jaspercohumanesociety.org/adopt

Story
Balto is a loyal, beautiful 8-year-old Akita, and we love him dearly. Our family is relocating to Asia long-term, and after exploring every option, bringing him with us isn't realistic for him or us. We're committed to taking the time to find him the right next home. About Balto Classic Akita temperament royal, watchful, and devoted to his people Good health, No medications, no chronic conditions. He does get some eye discharge He is Neutered, weighs about 90lbs and very well house trained The home that's right for him No other pets. We have another dog and they coexist, but we keep them managed separately. Balto will be happier and more relaxed as the only dog No young children. We have kids of our own and he's been gentle with them, but we genuinely believe he'll do best in a home where any children are older (12+).

Story
Forrest – ID #18616 – Kennel #46 Arrived April 29th as a stray – German Shepherd/Akita Mix – Tan & Black – Male – 10 years old – 81 lbs – Up to date on vaccines – Heartworm negative Meet Forrest — a magnificent and deeply soulful tan and black German Shepherd and Akita mix with the warmest amber eyes and a gentle, dignified presence that is simply impossible not to fall in love with. This sweet old soul was found as a stray on April 29th with no one to come forward for him, and at 10 years old this extraordinary boy now waits in Kennel #46 for someone to give him the warm and loving home he so deeply deserves for whatever time he has left. Forrest knows sit, stay, down, and shake — four commands that speak volumes about the love and time someone once invested in him. He clearly had a person who cared for him deeply, and yet here he is, alone and waiting. That loyalty and training he carries with him every single day is a testament to the incredible dog he is and has always been, and he deserves a family who will honor that. At 10 years old Forrest is a senior gentleman who has lived a whole lifetime of quiet devotion, and every single remaining day of his golden years deserves to be spent in a soft and peaceful home with someone who will cherish every moment with him. He is heartworm negative and up to date on all of his vaccines — and due to his age he will not be neutered prior to adoption, meaning he is ready to go home right away to the person who chooses him. Senior dogs like Forrest are the most heartbreakingly overlooked animals in shelters, and yet those who open their hearts to a senior will tell you it is one of the most profoundly meaningful and deeply rewarding experiences of their lives. If you have room in your heart and your home for this magnificent old soul, please come meet Forrest in Kennel #46. He has so much love and dignity still to give — all he needs is someone to give him the chance to give it. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Rock is a 1 year old pit bull/husky mix, his birthday is 12/31 and he’s a high energy, bubbly, smart, ball of love! His favorite things is to run outside, play fetch or tug of war, and love to be loved! Due to my schedule, I’m looking for a home that can not only take care of him, but to give him the life he deserves. He’s a great boy! Once he meets new people, he’s a bit skittish, I’m sure that will go away with more socialization but once he gets to know you, he’s best friend!
