Zoomer is incredibly handsome and super smart. He's able to master new skills quickly and curious about the world around him. Zoomer LOVES car rides and walks. He lives life full speed ahead, so he would do best with an active adopter who is looking for an adventure buddy. He’s down for any adventure with you, from hiking and camping to road trips. He just wants to be included and feel like he belongs. Zoomer recently enjoyed a short 5-day break in a temporary foster home, and he aced it. While we would usually describe Zoomer as high-energy (hence his name), his foster described him as easygoing and settled in her home. Sometimes dogs who are amped up in the shelter become completely relaxed in a home, and this seems to be the case with Zoomer. He was the perfect guest! They described him as “absolutely delightful” and we have to agree. In the home, he was cuddly and affectionate, and transitioned quickly into his new routine. They described his energy as low-key and sweet. Once Zoomer gets to know you, he’s all about the snuggles. He loves back and chest scratches and will reward you with little happy grunts. Ultimately, Zoomer was excited to be the center of attention. Zoomer is fully housetrained and knows quite a few tricks. He sleeps well through the night in his bed and waits patiently to be let out in the morning. He’s perfectly happy with a quick jaunt around the backyard, a roll in the grass, and checking on the neighborhood through the fence. Zoomer isn’t high-maintenance, and, more than anything, wants to be your buddy. If you’re looking for a silly, happy, loving companion, Zoomer would love to meet you. Hi I’m a retired army veteran. Here I have a beautiful adult male Akita 10 years old born on April 1, 2016. I’ve had this animal since June 1, 2016. I’m downsizing cause the girls have moved on got married and have children. I don’t need a large house anymore and where I’m moving to in the senior community large dogs are not allowed. So my guy is looking for a new home that’s gonna give him the love and care that he needs. THIS ANIMAL DOES NOT HAVE AN ISSUE WITH HIS HIP.

About a year ago the Marvelous Mia was found wandering the suburbs of Buford. A very nice elderly couple ended up taking her in to ensure her safety. While they loved her very much, they were in their 80's and unable to physically care for such a large dog. It broke their hearts to give her up, but they knew it was what needed to be done for their well-being and for Mia's happiness. So, Mia finds herself, again, searching for a forever family! Mia has spent the past 18-months being spoiled. She slept in bed with her dad, took long walks in the neighborhood, and enjoyed visits to get her coat washed at the groomer. Mia LOVES to meet new people, and especially kids. She even recently met a cat and was rather unbothered by it. She is great with medium and large dogs if they just want a chill friend to hang out with, but smaller (sassy) dogs might not be her cup of tea. Mia truly is a GEM! Not only is she stunning with her one blue and one brown eye, but she is sweet. Really sweet! She enjoys car rides. If you want a gentle giant that looks like she is part wolf in your home and you have a vacuum prepared to handle the fluff, Mia is your girl! Be prepared for lots of snuggles, and fluff balls galore. p.s. She doesn't bark much, but when she does you will know. It is loud and deep like a lion!

Fiona is a shy girl and does best with another dog to lean on and show her the ropes, but she has the biggest heart. Earning her trust is a worthwhile endeavor that is endlessly rewarding. While she's nervous meeting new people, each time she has shown us that she is getting more comfortable and just needs people who will be patient with her. Her favorite things are her blanket and hard nylon chew toys! She also enjoys her Level 2 Puzzle Toy, and she's so smart, she may even like higher levels. Fiona is very silly, bouncing through the backyard like a bunny or a deer and seems the most carefree when she's playing outside.
