He knows he is handsome and doesn't mind hearing you say that often. Akitas are loyal dogs to their people, not necessarily to other pets. They are hunters, after all. If you are experienced and are looking for a wonderful dog, please apply. He came from another rescue and before that someone rehomed him to someone else. Blah. Blah. Blah. Hear it all the time. Dagger is intelligent and wants to learn.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Meet Glacia!This gorgeous lady is a two year old husky mix with the most STUNNING eyes...even when she's judging every life choice that you have ever made, that your ancestors have ever made, and that your children will ever make. She's a sturdy girl at about 57lbs so not TOO big.Glacia's passions include hanging out with her people and having the absolute BEST manners on her walks. She's very polite on a leash and barely pulls and she's super, SUPER smart - she listens to corrections, comes when called, and knows her basics. She's content to just plop herself between your feet and soak up some love - she hasn't shown to be TOO high energy but can be prone to zoomies like any dog.Glacia seems to be selective with other dogs - she is not aggressive but is very uncertain and definitely would not do well with a dog that wants to be up in her face right off the bat. She may be fine with the right dog after a few meet and greets here at the shelter and a long, slow introduction...or she may do best as the only dog. She hasn't shown any red flags with cats - one of our cats hissed at her and she immediately turned around and left like, nope, not today. Meet Nadja!Nadja is, essentially, just like Nandor...except with better leash manners and she's, like, a tiiiiiiiny bit more on the shy side. She's a little older at about two years old and she's a small girl at around 36lbs.Nadja, for the most part, is cursed with an affliction known as RBF. If you do not know what RBF is, let's just say that it means that, if not actively being engaged with, she looks like she's trying really hard to place a curse, summon demons, or is otherwise frolicking down the "dark thoughts" pathway. In actuality, she's just as goofy as Nandor - she just lacks the ability to control her face.She's a little bit on the shy side at first but opens up quickly enough and then she's a Goober Supreme - she loves to play, she loves to zoom, and she loves to take everything as unseriously as possible. In typical husky fashion, she does have a lot of opinions and WILL make those opinions known whether you like it or not - loudly and often.Nadja is selective with the other dogs she gets along with and, so far, we haven't been able to figure out what her thought process is. She just genuinely seems to pick and choose who she vibes with and who she does not vibe with, so meet and greets will be necessary. On the flip side, when she met a cat who was growling at her, all she wanted was to skedaddle out of the room as quickly as possible. Meet Nandor!If you need a lession in taking life as unseriously as possible, let Nandor be your guide.Nandor isn't quite a year old yet - he'll actually be turning one in October - and he is what we affectionately call a "broken" husky. He looks like a husky but does not act like a husky. If you stare into his eyes long enough, you will hear circus music. He has no sense of personal space and his favorite past time is booping your entire face with his nose. If your love language ISN'T physical touch, you might want to keep scrolling.Nandor is VERY MUCH still a puppy and comes with the Typical Puppy Things - questionable leash manners, goofy goober energy, and ADHD. If your brain doesn't make enough serotonin...then serotonin in the shape of a husky is the next best thing. He is GUARANTEED to make you smile and make life feel a little less heavy.Nandor is UBER friendly with pretty much everyone. His reaction to people and other dogs is the same - bounce, wag, prance, big smile. He does not seem to know what a cat is and isn't 100% sure that he wants to find out so dog-savvy cats would most likely be fine.
