5-Year-Old Male American Akita Seeking a Loving, Calm Home Im looking to rehome my 5-year-old male American Akita to the right home. He is a sweet, loving, smart, gentle bear who thrives in a calm, respectful environment. He would do best as the only dog in the home and with a retired couple or single adult who understands large breeds and uses kind, patient handling & non aggressive or dominant handling styles. About him: Fully housebroken Walks beautifully on a leash Knows all basic commands Loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his person Naturally protective and will guard you and your property Calm, steady temperament An excellent companion He is truly a great companion and would be a perfect match for a retired single woman or retired couple looking for loyalty, security, and a loving calm presence. Must be the only pet Large home and yard Calm, stable household Someone who will treat him with respect and kindness fee waived for the right home !!!!

Story
What a handsome boy Foster is! He’s a 2.5 year old husky mix, weighing about 50 lbs. Foster’s an active pup who enjoys playing with his toys and the great outdoors, where he loves laying around and chasing birds, even in cold weather. He’s not much of a fetch guy and prefers playing independently with his toys. Foster seems to have a preference toward women. He’s great on walks and stays right by your side, but hold tight if he sees birds or other small critters, as he loves chasing them! He can also be leash reactive to other dogs on walks.  While foster enjoys playing with other dogs, he’d prefer to be the only pet in a calm adult home with grown children. He wants all the love and attention for himself and does not like to share, especially his food with other dogs. He is a bit anxious in the car and when going to new places, but really enjoys adventures, once familiar with the place. Foster is a big cuddler, especially at the end of the day when everyone’s home, settled, and relaxing together watching TV.  He wants to be right there with you and will follow you everywhere! He likes knowing everyone is safe, as he feels it’s his job to protect his people. Foster is house and crate trained, up to date, neutered and microchipped.     February 20, 2026, 10:47 am
