Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hey there, I'm Bob — a handsome 2-year-old brindle Akita mix who's ready to find my forever home! 🐕 I'm already neutered, housetrained, and heartworm negative, so I'm set up for success from day one. I'm friendly with new people and a great loose leash walker, plus I'm affectionate and loyal through and through. I do best with a family who can be present during the day, since I prefer having my people close by, and I'm selective about my dog friends — but with the right match, I'm your gentle, cuddly companion. Come meet me in my foster home and let's see if we're meant to be together! ❤️

Story
Murphy is the sweetest most bubbly dog. She loves life and she loves people. We adopted Murphy from the Humane Society of Missouri 2 years ago as a puppy. She is now 2 and a half. She is trained and listens well but could use more work on the leash. She would do well in a home with no other animals but may warm up to other dogs. She currently lives with cats but they do scare her a little bit. Being an Akita she would do best with an experienced owner that knows the breed or someone who has done their research on the breed. She is not like most Akitas, she loves strangers and is always ready to meet new people. She needs lots of toys and will need to be crated when home alone. She needs an active family that is willing to put a lot of time into her and continuing her training. She loves to learn new tricks!

Story
Kai is 1.5 years old & weighs 61 lbs. He is very lovable & loyal to his family. I would recommend children 6 yrs & up for families as he is a big boy & could accidentally knock over a toddler in his excited mode. A fenced yard would be ideal or energetic couple who can walk him a lot so he can get exercised enough. I'm a senior & don't feel confident walking him. He does walk on a leash well with my bf though & follows basic commands: sit stay heel - (you could probably use a tethered line if no fenced yard) he sleeps in his crate at night & is friendly with dogs & people - will follow you around & lay nearby when you relax. Only barks if someone comes to the door - so good guard dog 😀Contact me to meet him & you'll fall in love with this majestic Huskita!

Story
Kinoko means mushroom. She was a stray in St. Louis, rescued by CARE STL. They estimate she was 3 at that time. She's approximately 6 now. She was on a Gabapentin prescription when we first got her to ease the transition. She is a bit of a curmudgeon and has mixed results with houseguests and other dogs. Contrary to that attitude, she has formed two important bonds: myself and my male Maltipoo, with whom she's lived for 2 years. Though she exhibits hostility at first, she won't ever charge. She is not a bothersome dog. She is content to sit all day in her selected spot. Attempts to move this spot have failed. She barks only when a stranger is in the house and tends to shy away from strangers outside and dislikes noises she can't identify like cars backfiring or running diesel engines. She needs at least 2 walks a day and even if she refuses to move. She will approach you and lick you first to signal trust, and she may then be petted at will. She requires patience and a resilient love.
