Well-mannered and quiet, he possesses a natural guard dog instinct, always keeping a watchful eye over his home. While steady and low-key, he is devoted to his family and loves nothing more than lounging around near his favorite humans. This smart boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and learning to walk on a leash with great progress. He is food-motivated and loves working on delicious treat puzzles that keep his mind engaged. Oreo’s sweet, adaptable nature makes him a wonderful family companion who does well with kids and cats. If you are looking for a steady, protective, and loving partner to bring a calm presence to your home, Oreo is ready to meet you! Oreo is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.00. But what really makes this beautiful girl stand out isn't her looks — it's her wonderfully calm, gentle personality.Lakota has spent the past several months in foster care while completing treatment for heartworm, giving us a chance to learn what she's really like in a home. Her foster describes her as a “sweet, gentle giant” who is always ready with a friendly tail wag and a kiss. She's calm and quiet, affectionate with her people and, despite that impressive Akita exterior, basically one big teddy bear. Lakota is extremely well house trained and has excellent manners in the home. She enjoys walks around the block and is perfectly content to stop and simply watch the world go by. She's good with children and has the kind of steady, easygoing presence that makes her a lovely companion. Lakota does need to be the only dog in her home. Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
