Kyla is in a foster home, please text her consultant Laura to meet her at (330) 441-0813 Kyla is a 10 year old beauty who weighs about 57 lbs. She still has plenty of energy and makes an excellent walking companion. She spent some time in our prison program, and she knows all of her basic obedience, including sit, down, stay, touch, place, come, and heel. She does play well with some dogs, but she is very picky about her canine friends so she should be the only dog in her new home. Kyla is very affectionate, and loves to snuggle close to her people. Kayla's foster had this to say about her: Kyla has decided that she likes to play with the vacuum every now and then! Just so you know, she is the BEST dog We never crate her, she never has accidents, she bothers nothing, is calm and more interactive every day. She would make a great pet in a quieter home! Larry is a handsome 1-1/2 year old male Akita/Labrador Retriever mix who was surrendered by his owner on September 30, 2023 because he was a little too energetic for his family. Larry has a brown-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful symmetrically-marked face with dark brown eyes, a dark chocolate nose, and short floppy ears. His family told us that Larry had originally been kept indoors ... But when he became too rowdy with children, Larry was moved out of their home and was tethered to a outdoor shed that he could enter for shelter. There weren't any other animals (dogs or cats) in the household, so we don't know how Larry feels about other four-legged friends. Larry was housetrained when he had been kept indoors, so he has likely not forgotten that training. These photos were taken late in the afternoon on September 30th after Larry had been in our shelter just a few hours. HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied Larry outdoors ... And he was much more interested in begging for attention from Emily than posing for boring still-life pictures. Larry seemed starved for affection and clearly wasn't sure of the proper way to calm down to ask for that attention. Our kennel techs and volunteers will be giving Larry extra TLC and helping him acclimate to his new temporary home in our shelter .. And will work with him to develop his walking-on-a-leash and social skills. Larry weighs 50 lbs and is strong/energetic on a leash. He will be neutered before being adopted by his new family.

Bo will need a home that is super patient and willing to give him time to decompress.  You will also have to come to the shelter more than once to visit with him. He is fine with our staff but takes time to warm up to ALL new people.  He reacts ok to some dogs but MUST meet and new housemates.  He was in a home prior to coming here, for a short time, and they said he would growl at their children from time to time (which is why they brought him to us).  So we suggest NO children.   Anyone interested in meeting him MUST come to the shelter and complete an application if you decide you would like to be considered.   ***better photos will be posted soon Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
