Story
Meet Oreo, a handsome 11-month-old, 70 lb Akita with a calm, gentle temperament and a deeply loyal heart. Well-mannered and quiet, he possesses a natural guard dog instinct, always keeping a watchful eye over his home. While steady and low-key, he is devoted to his family and loves nothing more than lounging around near his favorite humans. This smart boy is house-trained, crate-trained, and learning to walk on a leash with great progress. He is food-motivated and loves working on delicious treat puzzles that keep his mind engaged. Oreo’s sweet, adaptable nature makes him a wonderful family companion who does well with kids and cats. If you are looking for a steady, protective, and loving partner to bring a calm presence to your home, Oreo is ready to meet you! Oreo is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
I got Luna from a friend and she’s been a great companion for the past 5 years. She’s a very sweet and loving dog. I am a single mother and it’s she has a lot of energy and I am just unable to give her the attention needed. She has recently been using the restroom in the house and I think she is doing it out of spite do to I have to keep her in the kitchen most days when my son is home. She is potty trained and I even took her to the vet thinking it may of been a UTI. She loves to be outside and I would love for her to be in a home where she’s has a lot of room to be outside, run and play! I love her and it breaks my heart to have to rehome her but I know it’s for her best interest.
