Story
Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Meet Lucia, just over a year old, spayed female, Akita. Lucia is sweet, intelligent, strong-willed (like all Akita's), eager to learn, loves car rides and adventures. Lucia's ideal home would be someone with knowledge of the Akita breed, a fenced backyard, someone who will take her on adventures like hiking. She does well with calm male dogs of the same size or larger. If you are looking for a loyal, intelligent, adventure buddy, she is your gal. **Must have Previous Akita experience*** My adoption fee is $250

Story
We got Viktora from a shelter of in Madras in 2021 with the intention of training her to be my service dog. Unfortunately she failed out but we decided to keep her as a pet. She's well behaved only barks when she has an immediate need (bathroom, water, excited for food.), has never barked at another person (car, animals, ect). She loves to cuddle on bed but occasionally has issues wetting the bed (sometimes she just doesn't feel well). She is crate trained but has not been in one in years, she has also had people away regularly for less than 6 hours a day. She is great with kids, but when they play with her she does get in their face which can (rightfully) scare a lot of people. She has a lot of sass, personality and love to give. We are moving to Florida and do not want to subject her to the much hotter climate and I will be unable to care for her while training my service dog. She needs a home with a yard.
