Meet King 👑 King is a stunning 8-year-old, 100 lb. purebred Akita who is ready to spend his golden years in a calm, loving home. True to his breed, King is stoic, deeply loyal, and beautifully balanced—independent yet affectionate in all the right ways. He enjoys peaceful walks, quiet moments, and soaking up love through ear scratches and gentle neck massages. King has a grounding presence about him—the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention, but whose companionship means everything. King’s journey hasn’t been easy. He was found as a stray in Missouri before making his way to The Asher House Sanctuary, where he’s finally getting the care he deserves. He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm. The good news is that his treatment is very manageable—it simply requires a calm environment through the end of May where he can rest and keep his activity level low. By June he should be able to resume normal activity levels! King is ready to receive the same love and loyalty that he gives so freely. While he may be entering his senior years, he still has plenty of life, heart, and companionship to offer. His soul is gentle, steady, and incredibly special. His ideal home would be a family with breed experience that has children over 11 and offers him a calm, stable environment. He would likely do well with most dogs with a proper introduction, and we don't recommend that he live with cats. King is more than just a beautiful dog—he’s a loyal companion waiting for someone who understands and appreciates the quiet depth of who he is. This is Khaleesi. She’s an American Akita. We have been fostering her for about three weeks. She had to be surrendered by her previous owner due to their medical issues. She is seven years old, spade, chipped, and full of love and goofiness. She doesn’t do well with other dogs or livestock. But, is great with men, women and children. She’s very gentle and playful. She has been to the groomers and did exceptional with her wash, deshedding and nail trim. Khaleesi is up-to-date on everything, including flea and tick prevention. She likes to be around her people. Loves car rides, hikes, jumping in the creek and cuddles. She is a one of a kind side kick and will make a fantastic new family member. Her rehoming fee is $250.00. She does come with her food and personal items.

Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

I am a Homeward Bound Alumni, through no fault of my own, my 1st adopters had to bring me back after some major life changes. I waited a long time and then found an amazing man named Jim, we had a wonderful 5 months together, but Jim's health took a turn and he could no longer safely care for me, we were both heartbroken and so was our shelter teams. Here I am waiting for a wonderful person to come along, I do like to wander so a fenced yard is a must, my ideal person would maybe take me on a short walk, I am way past my marathon walking days, I love kids and am very good with them, I like dogs from a far but I don't want to live with them. I am a big, sweet, goofy boy and love to wander around the yard with you, maybe while you do your yard work. My adoption fee is $150
