Story
Hi my name is Booker, I am 5 years old. I am an Akita and if you’re familiar with the breed then you may already know that I can be a handful. My owner didn’t crate train me during Covid and as a puppy I got used to him being home all the time, so when things went back to normal-ish and he left me alone I noticed that I developed some separation anxiety and would become destructive. It’s not my fault, I just don’t like being in tight spaces (crates) or left alone. I need an experienced owner to work with me, who has the time to give me. I love the snow and cold weather, I love taking walks and being able to run around in open fields or yards. I have 1 feline brother and 1 feline sister and had 1 canine sister up until recently. I love them but I get so excited around them and want to play so I tend to forget how big I am and pounce sometimes. Mom has to monitor frequently our interactions and act as the mediator.

                                                                             KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Panda and his blood-brother Ghost are 3 year old male akitas, who were surrendered as a result of an animal cruelty/domestic violence case. They came to us incredibly underweight from being starved. They were covered in scars and wounds, they did not get along with each other and would fight, their injuries have been addressed. After everything they have been through, they are beyond sweet to their care takers and are loving all of the extra attention. Ghost and Panda are chilling at the Ranch in TX. These guys are still looking for homes and are available to transport back to PA.   Thank you for your interest in rescue.                                                                              KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Betty and Wilma are 16 weeks old Akita mixes. These beautiful pups were abandoned by train tracks in Colorado. They are currently both in a foster home learning to be well behaved young ladies. Do not let their location deter you from applying. We work with EVERY approved adopter and will get the pup to their forever homes. As soon as they have approved adopters we will arrange transport. Adopters in PA will need to foster for 14 days following the state‘s new out of state quarantine rules. After the 14 day trial the adoption is finalized. Thank you for your interest in rescue. Story
A sweet, loving boy to his people ‘pack’, Sully just turned one in March and is displaying bad teenage behavior. He is food aggressive towards our other dogs and more leary of strangers coming into our home. Today, sadly, he went after one of our cats. He would be wonderful in a home with adults / older children and no other pets. He is up to date in all shots, potty trained, and well loved.
