ABOUT ROCKET
Rocket is a 1-year-old energetic pup looking for his adventure buddy! Sadly, he was abandoned on our property, so we don’t know much about his past, but one thing’s for sure, this pup loves life! Rocket is extremely social and affectionate, eagerly greeting everyone he meets with big hugs and a wagging tail. He’s playful, loves zooming around our fenced fields, chasing toys, and then curling up next to you for some well-earned snuggles. If you're looking for a hiking partner or an always-up-for-fun companion, Rocket might be your perfect match. He's been doing well with house and leash training since arriving with us, and he's proven to be a super sweet, active boy who thrives on attention and adventure. He has loved participating in our Doggy Day Out program too! Here's what our volunteers had to say about him:
"I had a great day with Rocket. He’s such a friendly and playful pup! When I picked Rocket up from the shelter, he really lived up to his name, he came out hot! Rocket was very excited, jumping all over the place (lol), but he was very good in the car. He hopped in by himself and sat nicely in the back seat. We started the day with a long walk in the neighborhood. Rocket seemed to really enjoy it. He does pull a bit, but overall, he was really good. Rocket was pretty well-behaved in the house, he's very curious about everything and really loved playing with lots of toys. He can be mouthy and jumpy when he wants to play with you. It doesn’t hurt, he’s just an excited puppy who’s still learning and really wants to be loved. Rocket seemed to respond to “no” when corrected. When he wasn’t playing, Rocket enjoyed cuddling up by my legs and feet and getting petted. He loves getting lots of attention. Rocket is such a loving and well-behaved pup, and I hope he’s adopted soon!" - Zoe
"Rocket is super sweet and friendly. He would thrive with someone who can handle his puppy energy! He jumped right into the car, enjoyed sticking his head out of the window, and laid down for the drive back. He explored everywhere on our walk, even after an hour! He seems to have a prey drive, trying to chase any wild animal (bird, squirrel, groundhog) we saw. He was very friendly toward another person we interacted with, he really enjoys attention!" - Jade
**Due to Rocket's prey drive, he would do best in a home without cats or small animals.
