Story
Firefly is a stunning senior beauty with beautiful brown eyes. She will melt your heart. She has been raised as part of a pack of 15, she will need a home with another one or two huskies or malamutes to bond with. She is a Husky/Malamute mix, approx. 10 years old. She has never lived in a house so will need some time to adapt to a home environment. She will need someone with patience to teach her how to trust humans, she has had very minimal contact with humans, just the two family members who cared for her. She is eager to learn, she is treat motivated, she wants a family that can take her on adventures, teach her how to snuggle on a couch and allow her to play with other dogs. Firefly needs a foster home, as she has some follow up vet visits needed and a trip to the groomer – she would like her coat nice and clean for her new family. Or if you think she would make a wonderful addition to your family, she could be a foster to adopt. A secure fenced yard is needed as she is used to roaming free so has some escape artist tendencies. She currently is residing in the Coeur d’Alene, ID area. Please email sleddawgrescue@yahoo.com for more information

Story
I see you staring and admiring my girlish good looks so let me introduce myself. I’m Lilly, and I’ve heard it said “she’s as sweet as she looks”. I’m 3 1/2 years old, weigh 88lbs and I’m very lean and in great shape because my previous owner was a runner and I had to make him keep up with me. Just joking I ran right beside him and I like to get a good laugh and smile from everyone. I’m very well socialized with people and think everyone is my friend…I’m a very playful girl and puppy-like and happy around people, good with older kids but with supervision. You know I will sit immediately when told especially if I think I am getting a yummy treat which I’ll take very gently and politely. I’m leash trained but haven’t been trained not to pull so I’ll just need a little guidance from you on that. I’m still young so I have lots of energy and need a home with an active person…I make an excellent running partner and once you tire me out I’ll be very mellow and calm when in the house. I’m awesome in the house, no accidents and I’ll let you know when I need to go potty. Since I was mostly an outdoor dog I’ll need you to show me some basic training and a helping hand to show me what is acceptable indoors. Also, please don’t leave anything out around the house that might get me into trouble. I do love toys and I have a favorite one that you put cookies in and will work and work on it to get the cookies out, that’ll make you smile for sure. I love car rides too! I’ve chased the cat I lived with so best to not have me share my home with cats, I have gone after chickens when I was brought to a ranch once so none of those please and other small animals. You’ll need a 6’ or higher fence to keep me safe as I’ve jumped over shorter ones. Imagine my surprise being so sweet and then I was attacked by a big dog while at the lake having fun with my friends. That bad dog gave me a pretty bad bite on top of my muzzle but I’m all healed up now. Prior to that happening I loved all dogs, big and small now I’m apprehensive about other dogs until I see they are not going to hurt me. With a slow, careful and supervised introduction to new dog friends I’m fine with them as long as they don’t get aggressive with me. To set me up for success I will do best in a home as an only dog. I’m very excited about meeting you so don’t be shy and make sure to check me out. I’m looking forward to getting a great new Forever Home and hope it’s with you. Gotta go now, I heard the treat word. See ya soon.

Story
Hey all-give a shout out to Moonsong for taking me in to rescue. I sure am a lucky boy! My name is Malaki and as you can see by my pictures, handsome doesn’t even come close to describing me. I was a COVID pup but after my people went back to work, they found they weren’t equipped to handle all my needs. That’s where Moonsong came in. I’m about 3 years old with a lot of good things going for me. I love people of all sizes, walk pretty well on a leash and boy do I love going for walks, know some basic commands, like other dogs and I even get along with cats! Yes you read that right. For the past few years I have been living with 3 of the furry little critters. My favorite things are playing with my toys, munching on ice or even a popsicle and chilling with my people. I’m crate trained and have spent a lot of time in one so I may need a refresher course on house training. I am a chewer but I think with more exercise and mental stimulation I could be convinced to give that up. I really really really do not like loud noises or fireworks but as long as I can get to my people, I’m better. I do like to dig but would be happy to help with your next landscaping project. Malaki is a sweet, well behaved love bug. He is neutered, UTD on his shots and has had his complete vetting done. If you’re looking for a young, cat friendly love bug, don’t overlook this sweet dog. He’s waiting for you.
