Story
His name is Leo, he’s around 2 years only (not for sure he was a rescue) he knows how to sit, lay down, and wait for food until you say “okay”. He is fully house broken and walks gently on a leash, unfortunately he will not stay near or come to a command when off leash. He does like to roam. He was fixed in November of 2023. He is also microchipped (which hasn’t been activated yet) He does have heart worms that’s in the process of being treated. He will need to be on a preventative for the rest of his life. He had is month worth of doxycycline at 100mgs 2 a day starting on 10/25/23. He will need to be tested again for heart worms on 4/25/23

Story
Richard arrived at TJO in need of a lot of brushing. Once all that extra fur was removed, he was much happier and started in on making friends with everyone.OTHER PETS: Richard is a friendly, young dog who is curious of other dogs however he would not be a good match for smaller dogs or cats. Any of our adoptable dogs should meet other dogs they would be living with before adoption to ensure a good match. [Case by Case (No Small Dogs, No Cats) (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Richard would benefit from an owner who has experience working with high energy, high intelligence dogs like Malamutes/Huskies before. We do not believe he has had any previous training. [Very Experienced]KIDS: Richard is a young Malamute with a friendly disposition; to ensure a good fit Richard should not live with small humans under the age of 10 - he is a bit [10+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: A tired Malamute is a happy Malamute! Richard would need multiple long walks daily, or a nice daily run as well as enrichment at home to challenge him mentally. Keeping Richard engaged and active will be key to maintaining his health and happiness as he matures. [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Richard bond with his new owner, build confidence, master basic commands and behavorial expectations. Further training will open up activities that can challenge Richard both mentally and physically. [Intense]GROOMING: Richard will need daily brushing - Malamutes shed a lot and blow their coats twice a year. Not brushing can result in severe matting which will need to be removed by a professional groomer. [Routine Brushing / Professional Grooming] May 2, 2024, 6:47 pm

Story
Meet our special girl with the perfect Spring name, Daisy!!!Daisy has been through quite a journey with her health. She underwent surgery for aluxating patella and has completed physical therapy. While she has made a remarkable recovery, she still requires ongoing exercises to maintain her strength and mobility. Daisy is currently on daily pain medication to ensure her comfort.Daisy is a goofy girl with an irresistible personality. She loves to engage in full-blownconversations with her humans. Affectionate and loyal, she's like velcro, sticking close to her loved ones. Her love for children knows no bounds, making her an ideal companion for families. Daisy thrives in social settings, eagerly greeting everyone she meets with her warm and friendly demeanor.Daisy is a joy to have around, but she does come with some specific needs. Due to her medical history, she can't go on long walks or hikes, but she's perfectly content to roam off-leash in a secure yard. Daisy is selective with other dogs and tends to guard toys and food, so careful management is necessary if she lives with another canine companion. She does have a high prey drive so small animals and cats would not be good housemates for her. Daisy enjoys lounging and cuddling with her favorite humans. However, she does have a penchant for mischief, especially when left unsupervised. Daisy is crate trained and would do best in one when left alone.Daisy is currently out in foster care, if you are interested in learning more about Daisy, contact our adoption counselors at 603-354-4004 - thank you!
