You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Meet Mya! Mya is currently thriving in her foster home and doing absolutely amazing! She is well behaved, sweet, and has adapted beautifully to home life. Mya has a gentle personality and wonderful manners, making her an easy and loving companion. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. Weighing around 75 pounds, this one-year-old is ready to bring his loyal and playful personality to a forever home.Maxx is a dog with character. He loves plush toys and squeakers, staring at his reflection, and a good game of basketball. He is an independent companion who appreciates his own space but is always ready to lend a helping paw, whether it be by pushing open doors to help bring in groceries or ringing the doorbell. His most endearing trait is the warm, cuddly welcome he gives when his people return home.He has a fantastic foundation thanks to his foster family. Maxx is house-trained, crate-trained (and prefers to sleep in his crate even with the door wide open), and knows basic commands like `sit` and `stop.` He loves his walks and is making great progress on leash manners, though he will do best with a confident walker who can continue his training. He has been good with older children and shows a playful curiosity toward other dogs on walks.Maxx is looking for an active, patient family who can provide him with the love and structure he needs to truly thrive. She’s an active, affectionate girl with that classic Malamute confidence and independence.Kandie loves people and truly thrives on attention - if you’re looking for a dog who enjoys being part of the action and soaking up affection, she’s your girl. She is looking for a family committed to continuing her basic training and giving her the structure and enrichment she needs to shine.She’s open to living with other dogs and kids, making her a wonderful candidate for an active home ready to embrace all the love (and fluff!) a Malamute brings.If you`re interested in meeting Kandie, she is located at the Pennsylvania SPCA Danville Center on Bloom Rd.
